That is exactly what I was hoping!!!

No modifications or substitutions are allowed.

Totally uncool to not have a vegetarian option.

my thoughts are...
maybe pizzafari won't be so crowded now that many families will be picnicing.

I do enjoy a little air conditioning break at lunch time. :cool1:

For those worrying about using adult vs. child CS credits on the dining plans, remember that CS credits are not (currently) tracked separately for adults and children. The only question would be if you can order a meal "for three" if your KTTW card says 2A/1C, for example.

Or the reverse, if you have small children that don't eat that much and you have 2 adults and 2 children on your plan, can you order a meal for only 2?

As for the 'picnic' locations, will they permit people to use the CS locations to enjoy their picnic? A PP mentioned eating inside the Air Conditioned Pizzafari, but I didn't know if they would allow you to just bring your picnic inside and eat it there :confused3

Good point Faldred, with that in mind I would think they would let a family order it as a family meal. I keep forgetting they are still pooled together. :)

I don't think anyone would stop you from eating inside, but I think the idea of the program is to picnic in outside locations. :goodvibes

Actually....I was saying that the inside of Pizzafari would be less crowded if a lot of people are outside with picnic lunches.

I would hope that they wouldn't let people with picnic lunches inside a CS restaurant.... Its hard enough finding a table.

No, but only because the minimum size of this package is "meal for 3". Otherwise, I imagine a group of four could order a "for 3" package with no problem.

Actually, the 16 oz. mac n cheese would be plenty for my 10 year old for lunch, with plenty to spare.

We could order the 3 for 4 people, and save a CS for breakfast another day.

I hope they expand this to other parks soon!

Oh, yeah, duh! Sorry, bad example :)

Personally, I think the picnic meal blends well with the overall AK style and theme, but really wouldn't work well in the other parks. For one thing, there is already a lack of usable outside dining areas in the other parks, and they also lack the vegetation canopy that provides the shaded picnic areas. At MK, for example, some former covered outside dining areas are being used for character greets, and I don't see them giving up those greet locations. There's really no tabled areas at the Studios that aren't already well used for CS dining. As busy as Pizza Planet and the Sunset Blvd dining areas are, there really aren't tables to spare. EPCOT could use part of the unused indoor area of the building where the current Character greeting is located (behind Fountain View) by adding tables. But there really aren't too many good locations at EPCOT, either.

AK has always had different dining schemes from the other parks, remember the old pre-paid vouchers that were good at that park only?

I wonder what the reusable bag looks like?

It says it is an "every tree has character" bag, which is a reusable grocery store type bag that you can purchase at gift shops for around $3-4 (I bought some last trip, but don't remember the actual cost.)

Sounds like a cool new option to try! It's pretty decently priced and a neat green option to help enjoy the greenest park in WDW. It is something we will definately look in to and consider doing when we go in May. I mean who doesn't love a good picnic?!
I do think they should come up with a 2 person plan and a veg. option-actually I'm really suprised they didn't come up with it themselves, they're usually so concious of this kind of stuff!

I really like this option. I'm sure it is something we will be trying out soon.

I think we will give this a try when we go next month. I am thinking we get it and take it back to our resort for a early dinner. The price is right and I think we will probably pay OOP instead of using the dining plan.
