New Photopass Group for October - CLOSED (update 11/4)

Everyone has now paid :) The next step is to upload on your assigned days. I will send you the account information the night before you are schedule to upload. Please send me a message when you are done uploading your pictures!

I'm all done uploading if the next person wants to start, I've also messaged Misty to tell her i'm done :)

I was wondering why it mattered when we uploaded our pictures? I'm writing my TR but I'm not allowed to upload for another week?

That's lousy :sad2:

It's so all of your family's photos will be together in a group. If we all go on when we want, our photos will be all over the place. This way it's also easier to make the CD at end for everyone.

We're actually running ahead of schedule. I'll be finishing my uploading over the weekend...so it shouldn't be very much longer for you.

I'm sorry you're disappointed in the process. As was pointed out, it is designed that way so that everyone is not uploading at the same time and YOUR photos stay together. Otherwise, it would be near impossible for me at the end to try to create a CD for each person with only their pictures on it. As it stands right now, I go in after each person has uploaded and make a note of their first and last picture (ex: Two boys in front of castle, Entire family (6) with Mickey) so that I can make sure that I get the correct photos to each person. I also set the initial schedule based on sign up date since most of us were going near the same time and couldn't all upload on the same day.

We are currently ahead of schedule and I've tried to coordinate getting people to upload photos based on their trip date so that we can hopefully get the CD ordered early. You will get the info as soon as Soozaay has uploaded and d'Isigny will be last since they are currently at DLR.

It looks like we'll be almost a week ahead of schedule.

Sacteach.... You have done a wonderful job of this! You are so organized and I know you have put a lot of time in this. So thank you for being willing to donate your time and help us all out...and you've saved us all a bunch of money.

I know there was one person who obviously didn't understand how the Photopass Share Groups work and posted a negative comment. That is disheartening when you have made the whole process flow so smoothly.

Just wanted you and everybody else to know that I, for one, am very grateful to you for all you have done. :goodvibes

Sorry, I didn't mean to complain. :guilty:

thanks for re-explaining it to me.

I feel lousy now :sad2:

Me too! I'm doing my photos now and if we didn't do this, I would be out SO much $$$! Every photo is a great one...I would've had to decide!

Now I just have to find a group like this for my April WDW visit!

No worries! The process confused me at first too, but leading the group has been fun.

Once your pictures are uploaded (enter the codes) then you can edit at ANY point, it doesn't have to be during the day (or two) you were assigned. The key is to get the codes uploaded (which only takes a matter of minutes) - then send me a message so I can make note of your pictures and then I'll give the next person the account info.

After that, you can go back and edit and the pictures stay together. It's pretty cool actually. I've gone in a couple of times to edit some of my pictures - adding borders, cropping, etc. The edited pictures following the original picture, they don't go to the end of the list, so it works out perfectly!

Once everyone has put in their codes, I'll give a couple extra days for editing, then order the CD!

Jumping in: I was part of a share last year and we did NOT have a schedule, but each person's pictures were together.

The leader didn't split things up like you are doing, so I can look through and see the clump of my pix, a clump of another person's pix, etc. The system seems to be really good at keeping things together within the card ID number.

Just thought you'd like to know my experience, if you host a future share.

Thanks for the info! I think where it may become an "issue" is if a person does not input all their codes at one point. So, if you put in card #1, then someone else logged on and put in their code, then you came back and put in card #2 after them, the pictures would not stay together.

If you didn't have a schedule, did everyone get a copy of the entire CD, or were the pictures sorted and then burned on individual CDs?

So far it seems to be working to have a schedule. I have a master list of each person's starting and ending photo that I'll verify before burning the CDs. I've had fun adding all of the borders, autographs, etc.

We just got back yesterday...had a great time.

I uploaded our photos this morning...guess we were the last in the group to do so.

Sactech...thank you sooooo much for your hard work in arranging this. K

11/4 Update: I ordered the CD on Saturday (11/1). I paid the extra $4 for the faster shipping (50cents per person). It is scheduled to arrive TOMORROW! :cheer2: I hope to burn the CDs this weekend and have them in the mail to you on Monday at the latest (hopefully sooner). If you have any questions, please let me know.

As soon as I determine the price to mail the CD, I will update everyone on the final cost and the refund amount :)

The CD is here! :cheer2:

I have sorted all of the pictures into folders per person and have copied the copyright release into each folder. I burned a CD of just my photos and I'm going to take it to work tomorrow to make sure that everything works before burning all of the other CDs, just in case. I'm hoping to pick up mailing envelopes tomorrow and start addressing them to mail out on Saturday (won't have time to go to the PO on Friday). I'll also weigh them all packaged up to get a cost on shipping. I'm so excited!

I'm also going to upload some of the pics to Walgreens or somewhere tonight to pic them up tomorrow to make sure that process works :)

All CDs are now in the mail. I went to the post office this afternoon and dropped them all off. Some of you will probably get them Monday (those on the west coast) and I hope the rest of you will have them on Wed (no mail on Tuesday). Please let me know when you get the CD and verify that you have the correct pictures! Thanks.

Overall, the cost came to somewhere between $12-$13 (shipping was cheaper than what the online calcuator told me). I sent a cash refund $2 in each envelope.
