New Passport Through Mail

We had similar timelines as above. Sent on Jan 11, arrived in QC Jan 12 (sent via Canada Post) charged credit card on Jan 25 and received it back Feb 25.

What is the correct address if you are mailing the passport in (not courier, but Canada Post)?
The address on the envelope you get when filling out the forms is:
Passport Program
NO STREET ADDRESS
Gatineau blah blah blah

But when I look on line, the address given for mailing (again, different from courier) is:
Government of Canada
Passport Program
Box 4000 STN LCD 3
Mississauga, Ontario L5K 0A9

Does anyone recall which address they used? Thank you!

I used the address on the application form, which as you indicated, does not have a street address. Post office did not have an issue with it and it arrived in 2 days by registered mail.

We are 10 minutes from our closet Service Canada office and this is why I want to mail in the application for my eldest daughter, too. So that I can still keep her documents. However, I'm still waiting on a phone call back Submitted my info on Tuesday. I don't want to wait too much longer, I need to get this done (luckily we are not traveling for another 4 months).

So check your office online..i did after reading here..mine in newmarket says you can walk in and try. So I will on wed..i will try and be there right at 830am when it opens.

Don't feel bad! My daughter was driving when they phoned so couldn't access her phone. Missed the call, hopefully they call back this week as they didn't call today. A bit of a silly system if a day and time can't be arranged. A text saying that the call would be in a couple of hours or something would be helpful.

Aww, I hope she got her second call! I actually did get a second call back, not til the end of the day yesterday but at least I didn't miss it this time! So I've got an appt on the 29th. Never did get their confirmation email (I think she spelled my email wrong eventhough I spelled it out for her 3 times, fun last name we have lol) but she gave me a confirmation #.

We sent our passport requests in and they were received on Feb. 17th. I did an online request for information last week and have not heard back. We phoned and they told us that they were processing those that had a date soon and ours didn't have a date so it might be awhile. At the time we sent the passport request the date of our travel was June so we didn't bother with the date as the turnaround time was supposed to be 20 business days. My daughter has a trip April 13th. She sent in her request around the same time as us. She was told she might hear the week of April 3rd and if not, to call back the following week and then they can make an appointment to go and pick it up for the 2-day turnaround situation.

For anyone calling, we have always been about 437 in line (give or take a few) and although it seems a lot, they do get through the line quickly.

It took forever to get two children's passports back when I sent them in January. I had to call daily for a couple of days for them to get the process moving.

Theres reports on cp24 that there is big lines for passports now...Asking for all to just be calm and if your dont need right away then come back in couple of weeks

Another reason I'm glad I was able to secure an appt time at my local Service Canada office. I know it doesn't speed up the process but at least I will have a file number right away and I get to keep my DD's birth certificate.

It does speed the process if you choose pick or choose the express option. Basically the turnaround time on average is 7 business days from when you submit the application in person if you choose the pick up option. They say ten days but doesn't usually talk that long. Really the worst case scenario is you pay 100 dollars and get it the next day if you happen to be in a rush

I thought all that service was only available if you were dropping at an actual passport office? If you go to Service Canada do they offer all that too? I thought they really only just accepted the file to send off to passport on your behalf? As it stands we don't technically need it until July so I don't want to have to pay more than the $57 I already need to, lol Plus, I don't need to take up a rush spot from someone else who truly DOES need a rushed passport.
