New passport since check in

When I checked in for our cruise I took a photo of my son's passport. We have since renewed that passport and just got his new one - we cruise in two weeks. I tried to change the photo on the check in but it has already been approved and will not let me upload a new one. Should I be concerned about this?

No, you can show it to the cast member at check-in and they should be able to update it in the system if needed.

If you are not sure I would call the cruise line and find out from them exactly what needs to be done.

You can call and they will reset your information online just for your passport. I just did this with my husband as we had our check-in while his was still waiting to come and his old passport was out as well. They removed his birth certificate and I was able to add the passport and it had to get re-reviewed. We did not get a new boarding group or anything but it does have to be "accepted" again.
