I rarely park at Disney parking as we usually are staying at a local hotel and walk to DLR. But on occasion we do a day trip and drive.

So yesterday we had good luck with traffic and arrived at DLR at 6:40 for an 8AM opening. I parked at the 15 minute spot off Harbor and walked my kids up to the security area - which opened at 7:15AM BTW. I came back to my car and drove over to Mickey & Friends. I made one wrong turn and arrived at 7:15AM expecting to be in a line of cars because past experience was that the structure would not open until 7:30AM. There was no line at all and they were allowing people in to park. When I was paying I asked the attendant about when they open and he told me the parking structure opens 60 minutes early on non-EE days and 30 minutes early on EE days.

I am not sure if this is permanent or how long it has been effect, but I thought my experience was worth sharing.

Last Saturday, we arrived at the structure @ 6:45 am and were let in right away. It looked like we were the thrid or fourth car to enter the structure.

Saturday is an EE day, and by the logic that I heard the structure would open at 6:30AM. I personally have never parked for EE but it does not surprise me that there would be few people at that hour. Your experience confirms that.

From what I hear, the structure opens an hour early on a normal opening day. However, when I went on Father's Day, it did not open until half an hour before park opening. I assume that day was just a fluke though. I wonder if it depends on the expected attendence levels??
