Sorry if this has been mentioned already, but Walt Disney World is raising it's one day park prices to $71 from $67 starting this Sunday according to the local Orlando TV channel. Gee, what a surprise!:sad2:

It's also in the Orlando Sentinal, I don't have a link...

So.... If you buy your tickets now would they still be good for Feb. 2008? OR if you add them to your package now will they still up the price on your package later when they go up?
Thanks!

Here's the Orlando Sentinel Article. Mousesavers is reporting that the 7 day park hopper (expiring) will increase from $264.12 to $281.16.

Walt Disney World raising ticket price to $71

The price of magic goes up this weekend at Walt Disney World, where the basic adult ticket is climbing 6 percent to a record $71.

Disney on Friday announced a whole range of new ticket prices that take effect Sunday. The price changes also affect the discount packages that still can push the per-day cost below $23 for adults who want to commit to as much as a 10-day run at Disney's four theme parks.

But almost all the prices are going up. And for the second year in a row, Disney is raising its prices in August rather than in December or January, when theme parks historically announced price increases.

An adult, one-day, one-park pass that now costs $67 will go up to $71. Price increases of 3 percent to 6 percent were tacked onto most of Disney's "Magic Your Way" tickets and annual passes.

There was no word Friday out of either Universal Orlando or SeaWorld Orlando about whether they, too, expect to raise prices soon. But Central Florida's theme-park resorts have a history of raising ticket prices at about the same time to about the same amounts.

Disney's increase came just two days after Walt Disney Co. announced a $1.1billion corporate profit and another good quarter at the company's theme parks, where profit margins were exceeding 20 percent.

Disney officials said the price timing had nothing to do with the corporate earnings; rather, it was tied to the annual planning cycles of travel wholesalers, tour organizers and commercial publications. They need their 2008 information soon.

And there was no indication Friday that anyone expects Disney's new price to start scaring away customers.

"We strongly believe that Walt Disney World represents a great entertainment value. Our guests agree," spokesman Rick Sylvain said. "In our guests surveys, nine out of 10 rate their theme park experience from good to excellent."

Yes, if you buy your tickets now, they will still be good for 2008 or whenever you want to use them. The expiration on WDW tickets does not begin until the tickets are first used. I'm not sure about the package price. 2008 packages most likely will have the ticket price increase included.

Ugh, Disney's getting more expensive all the time. I remember when I was younger and it was like less than $40/person.

The Disney Stores will still be selling the Park Tickets at the current prices until Tuesday at Close. The price change at the Stores will take effect on Wednesday when they open. If you need to get Tickets for an upcoming trip call your local Disney Store and verify that they are still on the current prices so you can purchase them before the price increase on Wednesday. ** As always - this is subject to change **

Thank you guys! I just bought my 10 day park hoppers tonight at 9:30 pm EST. Hopefully I saved myself some money.....although I will just spend it there anyway!!!!!
Now if they would just tell me how much my room will be....
And I can reserve dinner at the castle on Aug.13th....
My daughters will have a truely SWEET 16th!

Disney is starting to get back into the range where I'd consider it a luxury vacation. That would be a good thing if there are improvements in the park to go with the price increases. No theme park is worth more than $50 a day to me (ymmv). Universal & Sea World will probably be getting more of my bucks over the next few years. And yes multiday passes are in that under $50 range but I'll be rationing my multi passes until Disney comes up with a blockbuster reason why I need to spend 5 days in their parks...and I might do an annual pass under that scenario instead.

...There is something wrong when a day pass isn't much cheaper than an onsite room during certain times of the year.
