Which attraction do guests rush to first?

Going to be at Disneyland when Haunted Mansion is decorated for Nightmare before Christmas.

Go get a FP for HM right away...it will have an early return time...then go ride Pirates...then use your HM FP...two for one!

FP Strategy also works great for Big Thunder/Indy and Buzz Light Year/Star Tours.

Btw buzz is disconnected so you can get that one and have another without a problem...i.e. Star tours or space...it's the only ride FP in DL that is disconnected from the main system. Good advice above. Pirates will have a 5-10 min wait most mornings during the holiday(s) and HM will be 30+ due to the overlay.

Guests usually rush to Indy. Pirates and HM are usually walk ons for about a half hour or so, at least from my experience. The HM will be busier because of the overlay, but not super busy that early. As another poster said, HM has FP now so you can always get that first and hit Pirates after.

We went in August, and immediately got a FP for Indy. We went to Pirates next and literally walked on to a boat. Then we went to HM and there was maybe 20 people ahead of us. But that was just our experience, every day of the year is probably different!

Its helpful to know that depending on the day/time of week there may or may not be a fp for HMH.

Pirates and HM are both fast loaders, so early in the day they are almost walk-ons or small lines.

With the holiday haunted mansion makeover that would most likely be more popular than Pirates. Nevertheless, I have on numerous occasions on rope drop walked right on to Pirates (a few times I had my own boat) and then proceeded right over to HM and walked right in with no wait.

If it's October, head to HM first. It seems to be very crowded this time of year and people want to start with scary first (those who aren't rushing to SM Ghost Galaxy). But if it's November/Dec and it's not during a holiday week, it won't matter. That side of the park fills up slowest.
