New Orleans ~ French Quarter or Riverside?!?!?!?

My reply is based on the pools. I really like Ol' Man River much better than the Mardi Gras slide at POFQ. I have stayed at Riverside twice and POFQ once. While I understand about the smaller resorts, I have a strong preference for POR.

We stayed at POR in March of '06. I just never felt like it was a huge resort. It had such an nice atmosphere. I haven't stayed at FQ, but I loved POR enough to want to stay there again. In fact this September:banana: I don't think you can go wrong with either one.:thumbsup2

Does anyone know how crowded this pool gets in mid-August? We stayed here many years ago and remembered that it was totally packed with people and there were no chairs available.

It has been years since I stayed at POR and, although I enjoyed the resort, the smaller size of POFQ appeals to us. We are staying at POFQ for 8 days in early October with our 5-year old son. The last thing we want to do after a long day at the parks is trudge tiredly through the resort to our room. We're looking forward to our stay and I'm sure that, regardless of where you choose to stay, you'll enjoy yours also!

We have stayed at POR and LOVED it! But If we stay in a moderate next time I think we will stay at POFQ b/c DD will be young and I think the less walking the better. I do have to say that we will return to POR one day, I am sure.

It all depends on the age of the children. Younger children POFQ and older childrend POR. My oldest age 9 would not like the slide at POFQ, however my 4 year old would.

Hi Everyone,

I am trying to plan my next trip to Disney and I can't decide on where to stay.... We think that we want to stay at the Port Orleans - we just can't decide on the French Quarter or the Riverside!!! Any input would be helpful!

Hi Jamie,
Personally, I loved the POR, mansion style... but it also depends on who is going on the trip w/ you?!?! Either one you pick its just a walk away to experience. You can dine in thier food court go to the pool, access the ferry boat from either dock.... Whichever one you choose it will not be a bad choice. :goodvibes
