So has anyone spotted any new or rare characters out lately? We are not going until September, but I cannot wait!

Well, no, not lately, but we saw Beast at Disneyland about 8 years ago and he was by far the coolest of the Disney characters we've met. My daughter who was 7 or 8 was awe-struck. Never seen him at Disneyworld.

Hello!!

Has anyone seen Bolt around?? I think he is in DHS at the animation building. I am hoping he is sticking around until our August trip...dd7 really wants to meet him! :goodvibes

Yep - he and Rhino are still there. There have been some spottings of Mittens, but she is not as regular so better to assume she won't be there.

They are in the area that has the newest characters... they could possibly be replace by Up.... but I haven't heard that they'd be out.

Thanks for the info....I have my fingers crossed!

Disney used to have more variety, more random characters out. The characters can get very predictable nowadays, but you never know! I think the newest character is a new Power Ranger? Also the fairies (Tinberkelle and friends) and Bolt characters were the newest ones, both coming out last fall.

OP - have a great time on your trip!! Hopefully time will fly and September will get here fast! :teeth:

As stated, the "Bolt" characters are the newest ones. As far as seeing "rare" characters, they are mostly confined to special events like Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (villains that normally don't do meet-and-greets, Walrus from "Alice In Wonderland"). They've dwindled down in recent years. Four or five years ago, you might catch Goliath from "Gargoyles" or Darkwing Duck, but they've not appeared since then.

Does anyone have a photo of Goliath from "Gargoyles" available to share? I'm a really big "Gargoyles" fan and I've never seen the Goliath from the parks.

When we visited last year we came across Goofy and son Max. I think Max is quite rare as he is mostly seen in Disneyland.

During out November 2008 trip we met teh fairies (all but Fawn - hoping to catch her this year). We also met Bolt, Rhino and Mittens. Also, Brer Rabbit was a new one for us on that trip.

My family and I love to hunt for the new characters. We will be doing the Halloween Party. We did this during our first trip in 2005, but had no idea so many of the characters we walked past we so rare and would not been seen on other trips. We will not make that same mistake again this year.

We took our first trip in 2005 and have met over 110 characters, but always looking to add more.

Our youngest is 6, and refuses to get the little einsteins (they are for babies), the power rangers (they are for boys), prince caspian (we never even saw the movie mommy, why do we want to meet him). DH & I have to find a way to convince one of the 3 kids to meet the characters with us. DD6, DS10 and DD16. It might be tricky, but I'm not above making thraats!

Does anyone have a picture of Walrus from Alice in Wonderland?!

I don't know if it's every time it pours, but when we were in Epcot last time it was pouring (sideways in buckets) for over an hour. We went and waited to see the characters at the innovation building. And they brought out Max, some of the dwarfs, some of the bears from the old school movies and a bunch of other characters that I've never seen out when the weather is nice. It was really fun for the kids (and we bought ice cream there, so all was not lost!)!
