New onsite perk starting in January?

I called yesterday to see if there were AAA rates available for January yet (there are not). The person on the phone listed the perks for staying onsite (transportation, express access, etc.), and added "We might have something new coming in January." Did anyone else call and get this kind of teaser? Any ideas what it might be?

The only things I have thought of are early entry to both parks or opening the express line for FJ (which wouldn't be resort-specific, but it would be helpful).

There is already early entry to both parks. It just isn't advertised.

Maybe Transformers will be open by then, ;)

we just got back from there and both parks have EE although with Universal they only had a few things open...they didnt let you go past RRR.

if you received the above information from a call center, don't know how valid that is. (i'm questioning the person you talked with, not you)

i have received conflicting information from the resort call centers over the years.

if a perk is being added by Loews, then that would be listed on the Loews website.

If a perk is to be added by UO, it would show up on their wb site.

the one that told you about a new perk starting in january, was it in regards to the park, hotels, ?

My impression was that it would be a new perk offered to onsite guests. She was listing the perks for staying onsite when she mentioned something new coming in January. She might have just been trying to encourage me to book right then without the AAA discount. ;)

I have also been on the receiving end of conflicting info, but it would be cool if UO has something new in store for onsite guests. :goodvibes Guess we will find out in a few months if there was anything to it!

only in your dreams damo.........:rotfl2:

parking fees bring in too much moola for them to give up.

many many years ago, you could book transportation with *********** from your hotel to mco.

this was way back in the time where you booked online and could do the different add ons. (anyone remember those days?)

i think booking has increased a lot in the past 12 years where the system they use now is better for them.

A girl can dream.

You'd think if it was a new perk, it would be something to do with the parks since their other perks are early admission and express access. I hope they aren't changing the perks that we already get.

OP interesting but odd info. curious, did you call Universal Orlando, your AAA office or the Loews number? Once when i called the Universal phone number I heard a dog barking loudly in the background when speaking to reservationist. I commented and she admitted she was working from home.:confused3My point is that I wouldn't take any rumour an 800-number operator told me any more seriously than that of disney bus drivers. but thanx for sharing, maybe there was a 'leak' and more AAA gimmies are a-coming. .

Initially I laughed when I read the free parking wish of Damo but upon consideration...

the AAA rates at the onsite resorts have been lackluster and few and far between for dates i've checked...

perhaps AAA will reduce the daily room discount to 5% and perc the parking fee of $15 if people buy a pkg vs room only. It'd be less than the typical AAA 10% majority of the time and people do love that 'free' tag even if it's not necessarily the best deal.
