In case you didn't know, the new law that allows the right to carry a concealed weapon took effect today in Ohio. I'm not sure if I have a question or a comment. I think I just want to express my apprehension and get some of your opinions. For all the Ohioans out there, what are your thoughts about this? Are you planning on making use of this law? Does it or will it make you feel safer or less safe? For people in states where this has already been in place for some time, what are your thoughts? Is it cutting crime? Does it make you feel safer or less safe? I would like to get as many opinions as possible. Let me say this upfront, I did not post this to open a political debate. I just want to see what everyone thinks of it.
This new law makes me very nervous and I do not agree with it. I am truly disgusted with the Ohio law makers and for the life of me cannot figure out how this is a good thing. Are we living in the stone age? Do people really feel that unsafe that the feel the need that they need to bear arms wherever they go? I have never felt that unsafe, but with this new law in effect, I feel much less safer than before. You only need 12 hours of training and I don't feel as though that is adequate. I feel that this will increase accidents instead of preventing crime. I am by no means an expert in this subject and don't claim to be. These are just my opinions and I would like to get some of yours. Thank you.
