Before Christmas I read thread about some changes coming to 'Ohana at the first of the year. Specifically, the good wontons were coming back, the shrimp would be back on skewers, and the bread pudding would be staying. Does anyone have an update on this information? I need to make my ADRs for June, and if this is all correct, 'Ohana is back on the list. If not, we won't be going back anytime soon.

just subscribing. I am so glad the bread pudding is staying that is my fav!!! I also will be glad to see the old shrimp wontons coming back :cool1:

is this true??!!!

the old shrimp wontons are coming back!!!!????

ok - time to add Ohanas back to the ADR list!!!

Just back tonight. Dined at 'Ohana on Jan. 2, here's what we had: Salad, NO WONTONS at all, chicken wings, dipping sauces, shrimp in the bowl, tiger shrimp on the skewers, steak, teriyaki turkey and barbequed pork chop. Two bowls of potatoes were brought out at one time. We asked for another bowl of salad and more of the tiger shrimp, which were a little spicy. Then one bowl of bread pudding was brought out with a side bowl of ice creal and the bananas foster sauce (they didn't call it that though). Oh yeah, they started us out with the old pineapple bread, which was hard and cold :(. Overall, for the inflated holiday pricing I was a little disappointed. No mention of wontons whatsoever either.

Darn it...I want the wontons!! If anyone dines again, please let us know what was served.

Thanks!

Very Happy about the Shrimp on Skewers!!!
I can only eat seafood, no Meat because of allergys.
Woohoo:banana:

We dined at 'Ohana on Jan. 2nd as well. Did you have a long wait to be seated like we did? There were twelve of us (6 adults and 6 kids). I think people were lingering at their tables because it was so cold outside. Our ADRs were for 5:20 pm and we were seated at 6:40 pm. At least we had musical entertainment while we waited. Even the kids were fine to wait as long as we did. There were no wontons, but everything we had was GREAT. It was worth the wait.

Our ADR was for 6:35 and we were a party of four so no long wait. I did see a lot of larger groups waiting. One lady seemed to be having a little difficulty at the podium, I don't know if she didn't have an ADR or what but she appeared to be arguing/pleading with the CM. She walked away from the stand and the CM said something about having to have strong shoulders and thick skin to work that spot. Our food was good, but it usually is. Our server was a little spotty, didn't see much of her, although the guy with her was a hoot. I thought the meats were all very good that night. I was surprised that there were no wonton chips though, it seemed like someting should hav ebeen brought out with the other stuff in their place. But I guess if you weren't used to the routine you would not notice they were gone.

I'm glad they are bringing back the shrimp, but I wish they would also bring out the pineapple for dessert.

We ate there a year ago during our last trip, and my dh was very disappointed in the changes. He chose to go back to Ohanas because he loved it so much the first time we were there. My dh is a very particular eater, and a lot of the Disney menues are too "Weird" for him. All he could talk about the whole trip was going to Ohanas for the shrimp and pineapple slices, and of course they weren't there. He was OK with the other meat, but doesn't like the side dishes there and wouldn't touch the bread pudding with a 10 foot pole. He said it made him sick to his stomach just having it on the table. Poor guy, he's SOOOO picky!

I'll have to tell him the shrimp were back. I'm sure he'll be excited!

I am excited that they have shrimp on the skewer again!!

Bring back the pineapple and caramel sauce!!
PLEASE!!! And get rid of that awful bananas foster thing-bleah!

We ate there on NYE and thought that everything was delicious. We had an ADR for 8:25 but got there an hour earlier and only waited about 2 minutes to be seated. While we had dessert we got to see Holiday Wishes with music piped in. It was very nice.

We ate there in December. We loved it. Although the server bringng out the side orders was a little off. I didnt think much of him, but the main waiter was ok. Apart from the waiters the food made up for it. We had pork, turkey, beef and sausages all on skewers, salad, crisps, shrimp, dips and chicken wings. We also had the bread pudding. Personally I thought it was too stodgy, but I am not keen on hot desserts, but my dh loved it. We plan to return there in Jan 09. Hopefully the same meats will be offered.

We at there on the 4th of January. No wontons. Bread pudding was out of this world. We were talking about cancelling because of the pineapple, but decided to go anyway. We asked the guy who seated us about the pineapples and he said ask your server. They are available. We decided to taste the bread pudding and then ask for the pineapple if we didn't like it. We slurped the whole thing down, and almost asked for another. If we hadn't already consumed about 20 pounds of meat each, we probably would have. BTW the pork was fabulous.
