So I'm curious to know: what's the first ride you hit at each of the parks?

We are rope drop people but do not do EMH. Our rides are:

MK - Peter Pan (but this may change as the boys are getting older)
AK - Kilimanjaro Safari (again may change as the boys are getting older and DS7 has agreed to try EE for the first time on our next trip :thumbsup2)
Epcot - Soarin
HS - TSM

We're rope drop and EMH people - we park hop as much as we can to take advantage of every minute the parks are open. that said, first ride at opening tends to be"

MK - Space Mountain, followed by a dash across the park for Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. On a good day we can get a few rides in on each before the crowds start arriving late morning. We're likely to switch it up on the first day we're at MK this time though - BTMRR was closed last time we were out there so we will dive straight over there to enjoy the new (to us) changes. This time we're missing Splash. Ahh well...

AK - Always the Safari. Getting on the first safari of the day is such a different ride to those later in the day. The animals are much livelier when they have just got to the area. Last trip we got stuck behind a couple of rhino's, then a rather stubborn ostrich who was insisting we remain in front of the rather handsome lion for quite some time before letting us move on. We'l fit in an afteroon safai too to see the animals that prefer an afternoon frolic. They're such different experiences, you just can't believe it.

EP - This will be tricky, but we'll be doing ropedrop / EMH here a few times, so will split between Test Track and Soarin'. Definately Test Track - or Tron Track - first though. I'm intrigued.

MK - fast passes for TSM one morning, fast passes for RNRC another morning. Both have ghastly queues that we prefer to avoid (not to mention the RNRC queue has to be the dullest at Disney) and we can wait for our time to come up with repeated drops on the TOT.

Just 18 days til I can actually get on with my touring plans! :cool1: after feeling very prepared, I'm suddenly feeling like there is no time left at all. eek.

It never fails to disappoint me when I go to bed after midnight and see my Disney ticker, wake up the next morning and see it's the same number :(

I would love to hear how you liked TH breakfast and if it helped being inside the park @ opening???? ALL THE DETAILS IF POSSIBLE PLEASE!

I'm glad to hear about the weather. We will be arriving on Tuesday, and every time I check the forecast, it gets better. :wizard:

We'll be at Tusker's for breakfast on Wednesday. I would love to hear about it, too. :)

We stopped at the dollar stores and had fun looking at all the little things we could get for the trip. We bought some glow in the dark bracelets for the kids. It will be an effort to pacify them when they see those really expensive ones for sale at the parks. It probably won't work. ;)

Looking forward to the update on TH also!

It's our first breakfast/park every trip and one of our favorites! So much fun and the food is awesome!

HURRY UP 2/23 :faint:

DAY.AFTER.TOMORROW. :cloud9: Everything seems in slow motion right now!

Same here! The weekend never drags this much when you don't have plans!

We are leaving Tuesday morning and I have one thing in my suitcase - my bathing suit. :). It is the one item that I absolutely do not want to forget.

I'm having a hard time deciding what coat to wear to the airport. It will 18 degrees in Chicago when we leave and 77, hopefully when we arrive. :).

Thank goodness for the Super Bowl - kids are with my sister so today will be a blur of wings & beer soon so I don't have to include it n my countdown!!

We are in Magic kingdom today! Got through the gate about 9:am. Rode Peter Oab, Space Mountain, Astro Orbiter, and Buzz Lightyear with no waits.

Went to buy a digital download and the CM pixie-dusted us with a free download! (we are celebrating 17 yrs of being together)

10:15 had beignet and coffee break at Tomorrowland Terrace, then Stitch (which I sort of liked actually, with no wait). Then Monsters Inc laugh floor, and hubby got picked as Sully with his big beard and got to be on the big screen and make faces! Was a hoot.

Just had lunch at Columbia Harbour House, my shrimp were delicious and so was apple crisp. Hubby liked lobster roll. Now off to do more stuff. Seems a relatively light day for a weekend. Haunted mansion is 20 min, I'm ok with that. Come on down!

Sounds like a great day!

I was really excited to get in early to do TSMM hopefully twice, but now I fear it won't happen...didn't want to stand iin line for hours with the girls...ugh! So much planning for nothing!

Joining this thread now! We just decided that we can't wait until May, and we are going to start our VACATION on Feb 24!! We have never gone in February, so what are the pros and cons??:cool1::confused3

Bummer!

BUT, TSM was probably one of the most fun ques we were in and it went by super fast. I think the wait time is longer than it actually is :thumbsup2

This will be my 4th February trip. 3 of them have been the week of President's week as it is school vacation week for us. Looks like you are going the week after. I will say that I didn't feel the crowds during president's week were too bad. Busy, yes, but nothing unbearable. We have had mostly 70's and 80's each time I have gone and have been able to swim. I also did a solo trip at the beginning of February and it was warm (I am from MA so anything above 60 was toasty ;) ). However, at the beginning of Feb. I also had some rain and/or misty times. If you don't like the scorching sun of the summer then I think you will love going in Feb. :thumbsup2

We arrived on Thursday safe and sound. I just to say a quick hello before my phone dies! Anyone have anything they're wondering about while I'm here in the DIS for a bit??
