*** New Official February 2013 Thread ***

It's cold here too, woke up to do a bit of work and find myself lurking here.. oh well, time to go ahead and signup for this site, seems better than the others. ;)

DW, DS0.5, DS2 and I will be hitting the southwest terminal 11 days and a couple hours (not that I'm counting or anything :hyper:). Staying at ASMo.

DW has been reading up on other things to do and getting ready to be on 'vacation' with the little ones. DS2 and I have done some travel prep and got this whole flu / coughing out of the way before we left.

Good morning everyone!!! Glad to see so many happy people :cheer2:!
The shot and meds are working so I am feeling much better this morning. Hoping to do a little more packing this morning after the kids get on the bus.

15 more days till we hit the road!

Yay! My brother surprised me with a "Free Pass To Disney" for Christmas! Made our reservation for Feb 24-Mar 1 at CSR! Ekk! I'm so excited! Maybe I'll be able to bump into some of you! Does anyone use the lime green Mickey heads anymore?

It is 7 degrees here right now. Is anyone else excited to see that the forecast for Tuesday is 81 degrees? :)

I've been so stressed with the real world lately that I didn't realize until this morning that I'm under the 30 day marker!!! :cool1:

Because of some things that have sprung up unexpectedly we might have to cancel our rental van and just drive my new car. Not the worst thing in the world, but not quite as roomy as the van either.

Last trip in 2010 we drove and on the way home, about 2 hours into the drive, we wrecked! Totaled the car! I think it's scarred me. The chances of it happening again are slim, but omg, my new car! :rotfl: Really don't want to put 2500 or so miles on it within the first 2 months of getting it, but what are ya gonna do, right?! :rolleyes2

:thumbsup2 Except we don't come until the 2/8 which is upper 60s/low 70s. I'll take it though!!!

We don't arrive until 2/5. Long range forecasts tend to predict whatever normal is for that date. That is why I ignore them and concentrate on what the short range forecast looks like. :)

I can empathize with your fear. I bought a new car to replace the one that was totaled when my son was driving it and now I am worried about it being in an accident.

Disney totally consumes my life right now.

Did I forget something? Is a backpack/bag for the parks really necessary? I am bringing stroller, better safe than sorry.

Ok-I obviously am NOT as prepared as you are at this point and we start driving next Friday. What are each of the items listed above? Is the WDW lines app better than the one from Touring Guides? How does the Disney gift card app work?

Oh and as for backpack/park bag- we have 3 kids and totally need it. That is where I plan to pack extra clothes, water bottlers, snacks, camera, etc. Oh and another thing- someone recently said that you should bring a plastic table cloth and clothes pins to use on your stroller when you have to leave it for a ride. This is for the just in case moments of when a pop up shower appears while you are on the ride. Plus, this will help you find your stroller if they move it (I heard that they often move the strollers for some reason). Please let me know anything else you are doing to prepare! :hippie:

That sounds like a good idea. :thumbsup2 CM's do move strollers around and they can be hard to find. One tip I read was to get some of those cheap glow in the dark sticks or bracelets from the dollar store to put on your stroller at night. It helps you find it in the dark. :)

You can also pick up the other glow in the dark things for the kids at the dollar store instead of spending all that money to buy them in the park. The kids always want those glow things. :)

Disney totally consumes my life right now.

Since I only have ~30 minutes until midnight, I'll go ahead and claim it... 9 days til we are at the Most Magical Place on Earth. I leave for Disney next week, yeah! :cool1:

Holy Cow - I feel like a total slacker! I didn't even know half of those apps EXIST! But you can bet...I'm searching my appstore right now!:lmao:

How did you get the character times, etc. on your phone?
How did you verify your SW flight? What will the SW app do for you? Should I be rethinking the Fantasmic Dinner package and is it too late anyway (Feb 4th is our day there)?

Do you see what you've done to me?! You've created a monster!:crazy2:

6 days to go.......

I'm on my phone and haven't read back, but i was wondering what's the deal with the adventures if Winnie the pooh ride? I've noticed its been closed down the past few days.

I saw that too about Winnie the Pooh's ride. Not that it's a deal breaker, but I don't remember any of the sites talking about that being down for a refurb????

Only 7 more wake ups till we head down to WDW and then we get to spend some time w/ my parents in their FL house. I am one happy woman!!! The kids will be too once they find out. Disney and Nana and PopPop all in one trip, could life get any better for them????

In room celebration = a celebration you can purchase to be in your resort room. Usually through www.thedisneyflorist.com.

Photo Session = a photo session with a photographer at one of the deluxe resorts at an additional cost.

Kenny The Pirate = a fellow that tracks and keeps updates with Disney and characters.

I can see the characters and their times on the My Experience app from Disney. At the top, I pick the park and 'characters' and it lists them.

Don't know if it's the same one the person you quoted is using though.

I think I might be the last person in this thread at the end:rotfl:
You are not alone, I'll be here too!
How exciting! I'm so jealous of the last minute trip planning!

We leave in 32 days. So I'll be here too! :scared:
Last minute planning is a lot fun, but a little more hectic. The last trip was in 10/2011 and I had 8 days to pull it off! We also have 32 days to go!
Nothing wrong with a last minute trip SplashMtNCrew! You'll get to hang out until the last strands with the rest of us end-of-the-month cool cats.
That's what I'm planning to do! ;)
MICKEY MAIL!!! :cool1: That is all.
I love getting Mickey Mail :goodvibes: Reminds me that a trip is really going to happen!

What a wonderful gift! We will be there Feb 25 - March 2 at CBR! I noticed you're in Charleston, me too. Howdy neighbor :wave2:

Sounds like there are a few of us going down the end of Feb. I'll be at Pop Feb. 23-March 1. It seems so far away :goodvibes.

I'm end of feb too! I'll be there for the princess half in 4 weeks so you won't be one of the last here!
