*** New Official February 2013 Thread ***

Pocohontis,
We're in southern Colorado. Abq is our closest major airport. I didnt want to run the risk of flying out of our little airport to Denver in case of a snowstorm. It's worth driving 3.5 hrs, saved $400, and less chance of bad weather. and it adds a day to our vacation. we've only flown in and out of ABQ, never had the chance to explore it. Going to "old town" area.
Oh I see, Well you will be driving through the prettiest parts of NM, and my hometown, Santa Fe. We love southern Colorado. My husbands dad lives in Del Norte. Good Luck in ABQ, It really is crappy (forgive my french.) Nothing like the rest of the state. And Old town is such a tourist trap. Last time we were there so many fake items being sold at ridiculous prices. Not to mention you have to drive through the ghetto to get to it, yuck!!
But the best part of your trip, you will end up at Disney world!!! Yay!!

We are coming from Texas but flying. Don't want to waste valuable vacation time driving, and a bit worried our old Kia might need a bit of work on the way! We are booked at Pop Feb 1-7. I'm still working long hours so I can book my plane tickets next week. Today is my off day but I'm working 1:30 to 11:30 pm anyways. Trying to decide whether paying a couple hundred bucks more so we arrive at 1 pm instead of 4:45 is worth it. We will do Epcot EMH til 11 on Friday. Southwest emailed a code for $75 off but am broke after PIF my package. Was only good within 48 hrs of Xmas. Hoping there will be another offer next week. We like southwest as baggage is included, and we have had good luck with their timeliness. $200 would keep me in expensive fru-fru drinks with magic ice cubes for the week! Was looking at another thread on this forum where someone was miffed they'd only save $184 on their multi thousand dollar stay. It's all relative... Don't resent the folks who stay at the deluxe resorts; I feel lucky I have a job now that lets me stay in a value resort instead of a tent like my last visit! Yippee! Hot running water and a CS meal plan so I can order any dessert I like! (I had a terrific time in the tent in 1988 btw.)

34 days and counting!

Katie
Flying was not an option for us. Just the thought of flying with 4 small kids gives me an anxiety attack. Lol
Plus the cost was more than triple what it would be to drive. Thankfully we have a newer big SUV that has already trek'd us across the country. And the kiddos love all the fun experiences along the trip. Meeting all kinds of people on the road is the best part. Usually keeps us laughing the whole trip (there are some weird ducks out there :rotfl:)

Staying in a tent, must have been such an adventure. I am sure there will be more sales at SW, maybe on New Years day ;)
I think paying more to get more park time would be a great option. That alone is a luxury to me. With all my kiddos we have to arrive and get settled and full nights sleep before we can do anything. What a luxury to be able to just rush over to the park and start enjoying it. I say do it!!

Ooo I'll Play!

DH and I are going to be at the world from 2/20/2013-3/1/2013. Both of us will be running in the Princess 1/2! It will be our longest trip yet, 10 days/9 Nights. We plan on taking it easy this trip because of the race, and kinda take the parks at our own pace. I'm really excited for this trip.

Resort: Pop Century, after initially being booked a CSR, figured we won't be in the room alot so we saved the $$$. Pop is nice!

ADR's So far: 2/23:Tutto Italia (Never Been), 2/25: O'Hana(Never Been) 2/26: Be Our guest(CAN'T WAIT) 2/27: Narcoose's 2/28: Rose & Crown.

So glad I finally found the February 2013 group!! DH and I will be traveling (w/o kiddos this trip) Feb 27 - Mar 3. He had a business trip to Orlando so we pulled some strings and are going to stay on site at BLT!! We have never been to the World this time of year (typically in Aug/Sept and once in April) so very curious to see how crowd levels and weather will be!

I had posted awhile back, but I guess this 1st page post doesn't get updated..but I'm so excited, official dates are Feb 14-18, we are staying offsite,we all looking forward to it, haven't been in a couple years, tried last year but went to a fmily reunion instead(which was worth it), but so needing my Disney fix, DD and I have already made are plans for each park, the guys are just in for the ride, lol;)

We are married couple, I'm 50, he is 59, no kids so we have more flexibility. We are both good walkers. When I went in 88 I was solo, was going to join up with brother and niece but they canceled. I flew in from Wisconsin in early Feb with a backpack, tent and sleeping bag and set up at fort wilderness campground. The cast members seemed a bit amazed but everyone was very nice. Had a five day stay and four day ticket, 2 at epcot and 2 at magic kingdom. Last day I went canoeing and visited discovery island. It only rained a little during my stay. This was before AK and HS were open. Had a blast, got to ride everything as many times as I wanted and felt quite safe at the campground by myself. Even got to eat at marrakesh and coral reef. Also ate a lot of granola bars. Would do it again if I go back by myself sometime.

I'll decide on plane tickets once I see what all this overtime amounts to after taxes. 4:20 is when later flight gets in, would probably get to epcot by 7 or 7:30, enough time to do a couple low line rides, eat and watch illuminations.

I spent time the last two days trying to link all my reservations, too. For some reason our reservation at 'Ohana's just will not show up. I gave my family members avatars and tried to add them to our dining reservations. The reservation for Hoop Dee Doo review is for four adults and two children, but the list of people to add is for three adults and three children - crazy!

And the mobile app for my iPhone will not show the reservations that I put in. I don't know why I am bothering with it. I should wait until the website is fixed. But I'm just too excited about the trip. Only 38 days away. :cool1:

What's the mobile app? The one I have doesn't have a spot for reservations.... or I'm not finding it which is also entirely possible :lmao:

Yesterday was our 45-day mark! :cool1:
6 weeks and a couple now!
Hmm.. could it be I'm as obsessed as DW says I am? Well, maybe, but I'm not the worst one here :lmao:

I got it from the App Store and it is called My Disney Experience. It links to the new Disney website. I used the same login and password that I used for my reservations on the Disney website. It had my profile info and friends already there. But the whole thing isn't ready yet. The section called "My Plans" is where you link your reservations. The reservations are just as messed up as on the website. But hopefully it will be very helpful once it is all up and running.

That's the one I have. Haven't been on it though since the new website. It'll be great when it's working and I can see my reservations on there! It was the only thing I was unhappy about with it!

My two reservations seem to have linked to the app successfully. But I put them in my calendar as well just to be safe. Has anybody done the Behind the Seeds tour? Am thinking of doing that on 2/2/13.

I put in two dining reservations this morning. It recognized the reservation but they don't appear in My Plans. It said something about only the primary can a change reservation, but that is me! :confused3

Maybe I'll try again later.

Can't wait until our arrival 2/1-2/9, 2013. My head hurts from thinking and planning a trip for 9 people. But it will be all worth it in the end :)

Just saw on the WDW website that Kali will be closed during my trip. :(

First Splash and now this....why are they doing this to me?! Guess I'm just gonna have to start planning another trip. :rotfl2:

Yay!! Less than 2 months to go!! I don't think I could be more excited. Actually, I could be, but after this month, I'm ready for some WDW spoiled goodness!

We will be at POP. It's funny to think that we may be standing right next to one another at some point in time ;)
