*** New Official February 2013 Thread ***

I booked our Hotel! We're staying at ASMo!! So excited... now to book the airfare....

I booked us yesterday for AOA Cars Suite 2/9-2/16. I am still choking on the price. Come on free dining!

Here's my first attempt at a plan. I'm considering only 8 days now so we can go to a nearby beach for 2-3 nights (Clearwater, Siesta Key? kid friendly?) We're staying at the Beach Club.

Feb 5th- arrive around 3pm
DTD and dinner @ TREX

Feb 6th - MK (green) first BBB appointment of the day
latest breakfast at CRT
dinner @ Whispering Canyon

Feb 7th - HS (green) lunch @ pizza planet
QS dinner (suggestions) not at HS

Feb 8th - AK (green) lunch @ Flame Tree BBQ
dinner @ Hoop dee doo review

Feb 9th - EP (green) lunch @ La Cantina
dinner @ Hollywood and Vine and Fantasmic!

Feb 10th (DH's 29th birthday) - MK (not recommended park but 5.5 out of 10)
lunch @ Peco Bills
Pirate's League I'm thinking soon before the parade
dinner @ O'Hanas
pirate cruise with hook and smee for DH's birthday

Feb 11th EP (green) breakfast @ the QS place with kona toast

lunch@ sunshine seasons

QS dinner (ideas?)

Feb 12th MK (green) - lunch @ Crystal Palace

some type of "go out with a bang dinner" - maybe Rose and Crown around firework time to watch from patio? possibly move hoop dee doo review to this day?

Feb 13th - check out and drive to beach!

THOUGHTS???

Sorry for the dumb question, but even after reading the post from easywdw.com, I'm still a little confused. Josh says he's going to update the calendar again (seemed like early next week-ish) but said it wouldn't take long. So how much could it really change and why?

He breaks it down by day and why he recommends certain parks and not others. Other than that it won't change much until he receives the information about refurbs that may affect attendance to a pre-recommended park.

I may just go with a room only res. The more I crunch numbers the more I realize sometimes I inflate our budget in my head ;) and knowing we have tickets already (we bought NEs in 09 and still have 5 days left on them) I just don't know. I figure if I make some money in the next few months I may change my tune but it may be time to scale back a bit in my head and go with two connects at Pop with no DDP.

The nice thing is no matter where we stay or how we dine - we are going to Disney  That's enough to make me smile any day :thumbsup2

We are going to WDW during President's week this year. We fly in on 2/16 and leave 2/23. Staying at AoA in the Little Mermaid room. Last time we were there we went to MK and AK, but since we are going to be at Disney even longer we are still trying to plan our touring schedule. We know we want to do at least one, but maybe two, character meals.
So far: we have plane tickets, we have park tickets, we have the room booked:cool1:

You'll be arriving from CT the day we start the drive back :)

Castoral - looks good :) One of the QS spots I want to try is Wolfgang Puck Express but I can't speak from personal experience.

Hey everyone - I'm excited to announce we are staying at the Swan Feb. 22-27. I'm running in the PHM and my DH, DD, Mom, Dad and Sis are coming to cheer me on! Let the countdowns begin!

I do have a question - we want to do a few character meals while we are there. DD will be 2 1/2 and loved it last time. We like Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace. Anyone been to Akershus? Any other votes?

Good luck in the PHM!

Have you tried Garden Grill?

No, but I've read good things. We went last Feb. to Orlando but only did MK and Chef Mickey. The trip before that was about 8 years ago!

Thanks for the tip about Garden Grill - definitely time for research before the 180 day mark!

Awesome! We are in Fairfield County. You?

I have been working on our plan all day long. So many dining choices! Ahhhhh! I'm still not done. Got so sidetracked reading food blogs and drooling over pics.:lmao:

TheSpooph, we liked Crystal Palace- breakfast before MK opened. Good food + the perk of walking down Main St. With no crowds!

Ditto Tusker House. Better food here, though, and that awesome juice!

We are going to try CRT this time. I just want get in that castle so badly. My boys are going to hate the princesses, but oh well! Also planning on H&V for my Jake lovers. I've read eh reviews on the food at both, so just hoping for the best.

DH & I enjoyed breakfast at Tusker House. It's a wonderful way to get into AK before park opening and to enjoy the walk through the Oasis with almost no one else in sight. Even though we had no kids the characters all stopped by to greet us.

In 2009 our granddaughters told us before the trip that they were "no longer into princesses" so no princess meals were planned. As soon as we hit the parks their tune changed, we found ourselves waiting in every character line for meet and greets and I breathed a big sigh of relief where I was able to score a late lunch the next day at Akershus to see the princesses and lunch was a huge success. They also loved Crystal Palace. The buffets were great for the younger granddaughter who is a picky eater. We were visited by 5 princesses there.

Hi...I subscribed to this thread. This is my families fifth trip coming up Jan 31 - Feb 10. We are trying to keep it a surprise from the kids, so far so good...now just 186 more days until we tell them. We are staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge Kidani Villas for the first time, so even more excited. A trip of our dreams. We will also be there for my DH's birthday, so would like to surprise him with the firework dessert party at MK. Hopefully they will continue reservations soon for 2013!

I never know about these blogs before but am very happy to have discovered them for this trip. Great information, tips and great to talk to people that love Disney as much as I do.
