*** New Official February 2013 Thread ***

Joining you all! We just decided tonight to book a February trip, most likely the resort will be Shades of Green, but I won't know for sure until tomorrow. I am going to call and see what kind of military deals we are offered for other Disnet resorts, just in case!

We're at the ASMo from 2/3- 2/6. The deal was just too good for DH to pass up.:cool1: We've never stayed on sight before and we haven't been in years.
Normally we camp when we go away, but that would add an extra day of travel on both ends of the vacation. Haven't stayed in a hotel room in over 8 years (last one was a Sheraton and the reason we bought a camper it was so bad):scared:
No ressies for us we're doing the QSDP. I am looking forward to lunch at BoG when we go to MK

Big :thumbsup2 for ASMovies. We would have stayed there again this trip but we've got 5 and can't fit.

Loved the atmosphere though - kids were in love with the big statues! Hopefully next trip we will be at AoA after the popularity dies down a bit!

I'm trying to not to get too nervous until January rolls around...

but on the restaurants board of I've seen CRT, the luau, and Cape May all in the last couple of days :scared:
I've heard that the ribs are no longer on the Cape May dinner buffet. :sad2: That is our favorite buffet. :confused3 But it won't stop us from eating there in February.

We've been checking out everyone's pictures and it all looks great.
The only thing that has us worried is the bus times. We really don't want to spend almost an hour on the bus ride, especially if we have to stand:sad2: Since ASMo is the last resort to get picked up. DH is thinking we'll just drive over to the parks instead
Wondering if anyone knows if there's special parking for those staying on site, or if it's all just general parking?

so after cancelling twice I am finally going 2/3-2/8, staying at AS Sports.:cool1::cool1: First trip in over 2 years.

We were just at CRT in Sept and they told us some of the menu items had just changed (the food was amazing!). Is it normal for it to change again so quick?

I heard the BoG would be changing their menu in January, which I would think would be fast since it's technically just opening. I kinda hope not, the food sounds amazing!

It could be that some menu items aren't getting ordered like they thought, so they might replace it with something people would order.... But that's just my thought

We just drove ourselves when we stayed there. No special parking - just in the general lots. But parking is free since you're staying on site.

Ooh! I was starting to think I smelled when I saw I was the only one at AsMo for my dates, but I see I have a friend for at least two days!

Is that Chicago cubbie blue? If so, welcome fellow Chicagoan. We're there the same week as you.

The more often a restaurant changes its menu, the better the restaurant. It means the chef is creative, or concerned about using whatever is right for that season.

Sure, unless they're just removing things! I don't think ribs every go out of season :lmao:

Today is normally my off day (we work a 9/80 schedule), and I am at work!! Let's hear the mantra "Paying for Disney, paying for Disney, paying for Disney!" Don't mind the duplicate post when I'm here on Sunday too! :headache:

How early did you head out in the morning if you tried to make it to rope drops?

We usually had morning ADRs to make. Our first day we left an hour early because we had no idea where we were going:rotfl2:

It's maybe a 15 - 20 minute drive anywhere from the resort, and then budget a small amount of time to get from your car. We probably could have left 45 minutes before parking opening and been there with time to spare. Maybe even less than 45 min.

.... I know I'm being incredibly helpful here :lmao:

You could always try it both ways and see which one works out better. We liked going to our car after parks though instead of waiting for a bus as well.

I rarely write and am mostly a lurker, but couldn't help myself.

My DF and I will be in the world from 2/2 to 2/10 for our well deserved honeymoon .

We will be staying at Pop. This is the second time we are staying there and I would have loved to have upgraded to a moderate but the funds will just not be there after we spend everything we own on the wedding!

We have too many ADRs since we are on the DxDP, but we are trying BOG and going back to a few favorites.

57 days and counting!!!!!

57D and counting. AoA here we come. 2/2-2/9. Super excited. Pay balance on Monday!!!:cool1:
