*** New Official February 2013 Thread ***

I think you are panicking. :) I think our crowds will be much different than what other, earlier people are experiencing. There are no competitions and most signs point to most of the tour groups being gone. None of the crowd calendars have changed. Just breath. For whatever reason they have Wishes an hour before park losing our week, so they added another MSEP at closing. In general, parks are more crowded on the weekends because of locals. I still don't think it will be terrible.

That said, I'm no expert, but these are things I truly believe.

Thanks! I really was starting to panic last night but I seem to do that before every trip. I hope it won't be too bad and that most of the large groups will be gone by then. I guess if people can survive Christmas trips, random Feb can't be that bad :) I think it was the addition of the second parade that had me worried the most. The 9 PM MK closing doesn't seem too bad. At least they didn't extend it to 11 or 12.

:thumbsup2
This is pretty much how I feel as well. For our week we aren't dealing with tour groups, cheerleading competitions, mardis gras week crowds or the Presidents week crowds. All that's on the agenda for our time frame is the Princess Half that first weekend. If history holds true, the half will not make a huge impact on crowds and I was there while it was going on 2 years ago and it was fine.

Go in expecting moderate crowds, use the best parks and a loose touring plan and I think we'll all be just fine. The best park for the day can make a huge difference. I have one day that I am going against it because of our BOG reservation and I am prepared to park hop if needed, but hopefully we can make it work with rope drop and a plan:)

ETA) Although I have to admit that I find the two MSEP scheduled a little concerning. I've never seen that before in 8 trips. I am wondering if it's to deal with the MK crowds because the new Fantasyland is such a huge crowd draw?

Thanks! I'm thinking MK will probably be more full than the other parks so I'll try to make rope drop on those days for the first time in my life, even if I have to leave everyone behind while they sleep in and go by myself. The rest of my family doesn't seem to mind crowds much. They can meet me later :)

We are here now and yes it is busy, but it certainly hasn't ruined our trip.
We have been on almost every ride we want to (I just need to find a way to get on Peter Pan tomorrow morning before our flight!! :headache:)
We had a couple of issues with BTGs, none with cheerleaders, and a QS lost our order yesterday so I stood around like a lemon for 20 minutes waiting for a salad!!
You'll have a great time xx

Thanks! Glad you had a fun trip. Hope you make it to PP :)

This trip cannot come soon enough... had to put down our older dog today :( Took him into the vet thinking it was diabetes but it turned out to be intestinal cancer... not a happy home today.

I am so very sorry for your loss:sad1:
Our pets are our family and to have it be so sudden and take you by surprise must be a terrible shock. Sending strength to you.

Oh no!! I am so sorry!! I have 3 dogs myself, they are my kids. Hang in there....

Thanks for the well wishes :goodvibes Not looking forward to telling the kids tonight when they get back from dance, but we know it was the right decision.

I just keep looking at the calender :lovestruc Tomorrow is the last day before the 4 day weekend for the kids, birthday party on Sunday, and then crunch time for 4 days before starting the drive on Friday!

It feels like we were just at 99 days and SO excited to be past that 100 day marker!

For those of us leaving around the 23rd - I checked accuweather again today (obsessively every day now), and it looks better than it did yesterday. I understand it means nothing, but I like this one better than the last one I looked at :rotfl:.

Glad I'm not the only weather nut!!

Oh no! Im so sorry :( We had to put our cat down a few months ago and it was terrible. Thought he had pneumonia and he had lung cancer. Our Maltese is 10 yrs old now. When something happens to him I'll probably need meds!! Peaceful thoughts for you and kids

I hope the kids are ok and I'm glad you have a vacation coming up so soon to keep your spirits up a little.:)

Looks like we are on the exact same timeline. 4 day weekend, and a birthday party on Sunday! Ours is all day at an indoor waterpark. A nice treat to pass the time.

I'll pack while the boys are at their tournament this weekend, and do a deep clean on Monday and then Friday trip day!:cool1:
I will have work until about 2 on Friday but I work from home. We're picking the kids up an hour early from school and heading straight to the airport. We'll grab some subs on the way, eat in the car and off we go:cool1:
It's finally feeling real!

I'm back! Dad went in for his first 'check up' today with the surgeon since being released. Apparently he is healing MUCH better than expected and, as long as we keep him away from Rock n' Rollercoaster, Mission to Mars and keep an eye on him after other 'jostling' rides...

:woohoo: :worship: WE'RE BACK ON FOR OUR FEBRUARY VACATION !!! :worship: :woohoo:

Which is great because I missed checking in with you guys every day. Now we have 10 DAYS to make everything re-happen. Thankfully, I hadn't cancelled our package just yet so we only have to re-book the pair of birthday meals. It's still sinking in. Punch me, Guido! Punch me in the face!!

I'm so sorry for your loss. We were there last week with a wonderful cat, who truly thought he was a person. Even caught him a few times sitting on one of the couches like a human, even with his front leg up on the arm rest like any one of us. Alvin was such a cool guy and we will miss him and our 15 year old German Shepard and 12 year old yellow lab are now having major issues. The trip can't come fast enough for us. My Dad is staying at our house and he is one of their best buddies, so at least they won't be lonely. As of today, we are finally at 9 days!! So soon will our first CBR trip will be here...then 7 weeks later our DVC trip to Beach Club. Can't wait.

Make that 3. Watching for another 26" dumping of snow that will dare get in the way of our CBR trip. Can't wait. Funny, my Disney shirts are already packed, in fact I believe that they climbed in the suitcase on they're own. Magical.
