Hello all. Well I'm selling my 12yr old sedan and getting a new Honda Odyssey! Yup - a minivan :scared:

I cannot make decisions on stupid things like car colors! Painting a room in our house - good grief paint chips galore!!

I'm torn pretty evenly between

White
Mocha
Polished Metal (dark grey)
Smokey Topaz (dark greyish brown)

My only hesitation w/ the white is it's not the pearl/metallic and is just a solid white. The white metallic is for the Touring level only and that's not happening.

NO time to post pic choices..guess that would help..oh well.

My mom says the white is safest for the kids too.

Thanks!

just looked at the colors and I would get either mocha or smoky topaz. I don't like the white, and the polished metal is nice, (I have dark gray on my highlander) but the other two are different and they look really nice!

My next door neighbors just brought home the smokey topaz. It's really pretty. Is the mocha the kind of sienna brown I've seen around? That's nice too. But if you keep the car for a long time, the browns will definately look dated.

We have a silver Odyssey. My sister has the dark grey Odyssey, which I like better than my color. I like white, but it shows the dirt more than other colors.

I would get the Polished Metal. But thats me. On another note, did I hear right that the new Odysseys are coming equipped with built in vacuum cleaners in the back?

I would get the white. It's more visible on the road. When I've had colors such as the greys, I get rear-ended more often. With whites, I've never been rear-ended.

Just got a '13 Odyssey LX. We got the mocha color. Didn't look that great on the computer but was by far my favorite in real life.

I say mocha or smokey topaz. Our odyssey is black and I love it but I didn't get to pick the color it was just the one with the most features and the best price at the dealership we wanted to buy from!

Post pics once you get it!

I have polished Metal and I've never had a problem ever.
Maybe it was the way you were driving?

They are all nice! Enjoy!

We have a 2012 Odyssey in the polished metal. I really like the colour, and we haven't been rear-ended yet ;). I'm usually keen on white cars but I really didn't like the white in the Odyssey...it just seemed to be too glaring because of the size of the vehicle.

I would not get a white anything. they blend in way to well up here in snow land. I'd go with nonsliver also because it seems like a lot of vans are grey in color.

It partly depends on where you live. Here in Texas, I only buy white. Ever.

It stays cooler. Big plus in a hot state.

It shows dirt less. Throw a bunch of mud on a white car and a black car and the white will show dirt less. It makes no sense, but it's true.

Most of all, it's a safety issue. White is more easily seen than other colors. The car dealer said he thinks he's read that gray and silver are the most likely to be hit because they blend into the road color. Camo cars.

Brown will be dated in no time. Don't buy it.

yes, heard on the news tonight that the 2014 will have a vacuum in it! For the "stale cheerios", Brian Williams on NBC was saying....

Yes on the vacuum! I think I saw it on the Honda website last night. Built in hose you pull out from the panel in the cargo well.

We're in Texas so the snow issue is not a problem here :rotfl2: We leaned on the white today and it was cool as can be and my son leaned on even the silver and mocha (lightest silver and gold colors) and they were hot and only getting worse as you got darker.

I like the Topaz too - it's probably my 2nd choice but the interior is truffle (which I thought I liked better on the swatches) and it felt so much darker in the cabin compared to the beige was so much lighter/brighter.

Yes white is definitely the safest color and very highly visible - someone mentioned glaring :goodvibes. I sort of let my eyes blur on the traffic up ahead (no one was near me) and all the cars sort of blended together and into the background except the white ones pop out (and the yellow one I saw:banana:)

All 4 of my top colors are pretty honestly and I'll be happy w/ any. Stupid of me but DH's is white (non metallic) and it rarely looks dirty and he never washes it and parks outside. Only starting now in heavy pollen season do I see dust on the car. PLus I'm sure paint 'technology' is better in the last 12 years.

If you ever get a chip or scratch the white is super easy to fix yourself.

Sooo I've got the white one coming from another city or he thinks they'll get one in the first week of April - unless I change my mind again :confused3

Now to learn the control panel - sheesh I felt like I was in a space ship. My 12 yr old base model only has a few knobs! :faint:

My dad (used car salesman) always told me to buy red (any variable- i.e. cherry or darker red), grey or black cars because they end up with the highest resale and thus highest trade in values. More people want those colors.

BUT personally I prefer the Mocha :)

Oops, I see you already decided! Congrats! I can see white being a good color in TX.

I'm in WI and would worry about blending in with snow :)
