New Neighbors

I am so irritated right now. I havent met these people but the lack of consideration to the neighborhood leaves a lot to be desired. They are clearing off their lot to build on. Now I know thats not bad but at 7 am on a SUNDAY morning to have a large machine chipping wood is uncalled for! If they were going to do it on a Sunday they could have waited until a bit later than giving the entire neighborhood a rude awakening!!! UGH, no sleep again for me

We have a noise ordinance. No machines on Sunday until
1pm. That includes mowers. I would be really ticked off if
I were you. Is it the neighbors themselves or people they
hired?

I feel your pain, we have the opposite problem, ours never let us sleep, the dogs bark all night long.......

I cant tell if its people that were hired or not. Im not sure who the neighbors will be. Hes still going at at 2 hours later!! Luckily my kids are on the other side of the house so they dont have it right outside of their bedroom window like I do.

It's 10am on Sunday here for noise. 7am is daft & also very inconsiderate.

7 is a bit early, yes, even more so on Sunday. I think the weekday noise time is 8 AM, maybe 9 or so on Sunday.

For us, the noise time is about 4 AM, when our 20-something next door neighbor and his friends come home from the bars.

Maybe they figured people would be getting up to go to church and that that time of morning would not be a problem.

Really does stink. I don't have machines outside of my bedroom window, but I have a family (DH,DW,DW's siter and brother and 2kids) who have the foulest mouths going. They are constantly yelling and screaming, of course using their lovely language, at all hours of the day (including 7am). They also have someone that comes by and blows the horn at 6:45am every morning for one of them.

Call City Hall and find out about your local noise ordinance. The next time they start work earlier than it's stated in the ordinance, call the police and ask if they would have a car come by to inform these people of it or go over yourself with a copy of the ordinance in hand.

I agree. Check with your township or city hall. I imagine there is a noise ordinance in place.

I hope you can work this out with whoever is raising such a ruckus early on a Sunday morning.

Does your town/city have ordiances against this? Every town/city has building ordiances. I would give your town/city hall a call on Monday morning and inquire. If contractors break the ordiances they can be fined. Your new neighbors might not even know that the contractor is doing this.
