We do have them & Corey, our wonder technical person :thumbsup2 , is working on putting them up on the wdwinfo site to share ASAP. :) I have to say that I am really disappointed with this new format. VERY confusing, even for someone who has been on 3 7 day cruises & is familiar with the ship's activities. I have emailed DCL asking for the old format to return.

In what I was "able" to view for the new navigators -- it looks like the Kids Clubs are significantly reduced in terms of scheduled activities. Lots of "Free Time", and some of the things previously listed on the Navigators for 5-7 and 8-9 are gone!! I guess I got about doing some of these things for nothing!

Oh, no, please tell me this isn't so.......

We just booked our 3rd Magic cruise for October 2006 and the whole reason we decided to do DCL again is because all the other cruise lines have so much "free time" in their kids clubs and my kids don't like that! We decided to pay more to get the better kids programs with DCL.

Is this really happening? Our last cruise was October 2004 on the Magic and there were so many activities it was hard to get my kids to leave the clubs because they didn't want to miss anything. They would be so disappointed if all they had to do on our next cruise was "hang out" in the lab..............

I doubt that is the case with the clubs at all. The person who scanned them thought that there may still be a kid's club navigator but since their kids were in the stack, they didn't pick those up. I'm sure that if they had cancelled all of the activities we would have heard about it on the live thread last week. ;)

*** I just pulled up one of the files & they do have activities listed for each of the regular age groups. It looks more like a TV guide listing for the activities & is confusing. I'll upload one of the days to the picture site so that you can get an idea of what I am talking about. :)

Here you go! It is a pdf file so I had to screen print, save it to paint, then save it as a jpeg file to upload to the board.

Hey how current is this schedule did they change the look of it from the bright D Sea U chids navi to this TV schedule and if they did the old one was way more attractive??? pirate:

Where did you get this view of the navigator from is it a crew one because usually they have the small pocket sized ones :clown:

ITA with you. This was the new format that was introduced last week. Wait until you see how they changed the other information. OY!

No, it is not. A DISer sent me scanned copies of the regular navigator that is being used on the Magic now.

Thank you lbgraves for taking so much time and effort to post the scan of the new style Navigator.

Yuck! It definitely is harder to read than the previous style. I hope they change it back before October - LOL! I did see quite a few "free time" descriptions in the younger kids schedule on the snippet you posted, but I won't panic yet. Thanks again for your help and for your reassurance.

That screen shot is of the bottom of the second page of the new navigator. I have to get the kids in bed before I can try to figure out how to save the whole 2 page file as a jpeg image to post. That's why I am not a techie. ;)

It looks soooo different from the old ones. Free time or structured, I'm sure my ds5 will have a blast. The only bad things is that they're doing all the really cool science type things while we're at dinner or at the show. He's already missing pj party night because it's the same as either formal or pirate night. Oh well.

The PJ party was changed to the non pirate night port day last fall. :) I told the CMs that alot of people were going to like that change. It was how we got DD to want to go to the club on Wednesday night on the eastern. It seemed that most of the science stuff was also during our early dinner or a show that the kids really wanted to see on that cruise also. It looks like they have shifted some program activities around. That should let return cruiser kids try some new things. :)

Ewww, yuck! Can't stand the new format! Also, they always had a brief description of each activity and now that's gone. I would think this format would be horribly confusing, particularly to "newbies". I don't think it will last long, they're going to get terrible feedback!

I agree that it seems to be a bit more difficult to understand, and I am already missing the descriptions of the events. I hope they present a sheet that lists all the descriptions, so that you know what each activity is.

I do have to say that this format does allow me to understand where our activities will overlap, and shows me where I could plug in certain things, like a massage, etc. I can scan straight down and see what all my kids will be able to do around say...NOON..and plan from there. I'm willing to give this new format a chance..as long as I get my descriptions SOMEWHERE! :teacher:

As for one of the comments earlier...I hope they have indeed switched the PJ night to a regular night...I'm sure most parents want their kiddos to at least dress up for a bit, either on formal night or pirate night. It seems a shame that we'd have to choose between them! (PJ party would lose, because I'm planning on some nice family pictures in both sets of outfits!) pirate:

Can't wait to see the full scans! THANKS IN ADVANCE for this info!!! :thanks:

I agree with Dznyjenn about the format. It has one very big plus of being able to see all that is happening at once. One problem we found in Dec was lining up overlapping acitivies to make choices. This format makes that so much easier. I also agree that there must be descriptions somewhere. It really is just the TV guide. We cruise on Sat.

there is a four page overview with descriptions, you get on the first day of the cruise. I just found the font to be too small
