***NEW MyMagic & FastPass+ Official Information & FAQ Thread***

I would think if you FP+ it shouldn't take long..
However I would jut check the line before hand... Sometimes the lines are over 90 min.. People really take their time here..
I would not get in line unless its 40 or under.. Just because you need time to meet and greet and still more time to get to the Ressie.

Good news I think the lines for them get A LOT shorter by the end of the day..

Hope this helps..

I don't think PP is asking about the EPCOT Character Spot; is asking about the Disney Visa Meet and Greet for card holders only.

::yes::

As for Character Spot, I hear that waits there are generally short since the refurb.

Has anyone purchased DVC annual passes and successfully linked them to DME?

Yes I successfully linked mine.

Has anyone purchased DVC annual passes and successfully linked them to DME?

Yes. No problem doing it.

Subscribing and a Question: Has anyone successfully tied their MNSSHP or MVMCP tickets to their Magicbands? Is that still not recommended?

You can link them in to your DMX profile, but they don't want you doing it. The ticket will still be required to enter the park for the party (unless you've already entered with separate admission) and to get the wristband. You _might_ get to make another day's worth of FP+, but there will be no FP+ times available post-7pm when they party officially starts.

This may be on here and I apologize if missed but do you guys think all disney resorts will be on the magic bands by February?

Yes. All of them are supposed to be on in another week or so I think.

They will all be using them within the next 10 days. :)

Thanks for noting that...I'm a newbie and I thought she was talking about the meet and greet, photo for Disney Visa card holders. Does anyone no an approximate time how long this might take...I have a reservation at 6:15 and would like to do this right before .... thanks !! :thumbsup2

It's in other innovations building from character spot and across from where's the fire exhibit ( or whatever is there now), around corner from old Segway training thingie. Basically it's black curtains and a sign. I believe the meet is from 1p est to 7p est. you have to show Disney Visa card at head of line before being let in to see Characters. They will give you a voucher to claim your photo at camera store under Space ship earth by end of that night.

This is for the Disney Visa card holders meet and greet, right? Do you know (approximately) how long it takes to get through the line of this?? I do have a card and don't want to miss this. I would like to do it right before a reservation I have at 6:15 - so I was hoping being in line at 5:15 might be good??? Thanks for your help!!! :)

never done it (will next week), but I think 5:15 will give you plenty of time. I can't find any specific posts about how long the wait is but it's not open to the general public; just Disney Visa card holders. You can get 1 picture/day per card. My sis and I each have a card so 2 pictures. We will be there next week and will try to remember to post when I get back about the wait.

Here in the world now, and have am using FP+ and MB, even though I originally swore not to, because of everything I had read.

First- an answer to a previous question- my parents both have DVC annual passes, and our magic bands (not requested by us) were given to us upon arrival at the beach club villas. They were able to link their DVC annual passes to their MB's without a problem.

As for the rest of it.... I am glad I knew about the issues ahead of time, was prepared to have things go wrong, and had backups for both my room key/charging and my park pass (annual pass, paper ticket).

So here's how my experience has gone so far:

Checked in, was surprised they had bands ready as we hadn't requested them, but it seems to be pretty standard now. They were set up with room key only, and we were given traditional RFID room key cards as well. I added a credit card/pin number for charging. The bands worked great for both. No problems.

I was still resolved not to link my annual pass to the tickets. Went to MK, used my paper annual pass to enter (mid-day)- no problem. Pulled traditional past passes, but saw how the FP+ ws working, and thought I might give it a try.

Next morning, I resolved to figure out FP+ later in the day while my kids were napping. Went to MK for EMH via transportation center. Was stopped heading to ferry to MK, when asked if I had paper tickets. They made us go to ticket counter to change out paper annual passes for plastic RFID ones. CM told me I could not enter MK with paper ticket, and was unmoved when I told her I had done it the day before. Went to ticket window- thank good was no line, and changed passes. Took about 15 minutes to change all 6 or our tickets. Made us miss the MK opening show, but, oh well.

That afternoon, back at the resort, I go into MDE and link our tickets to each member of my family. But I still don't see FP+. I go to DVC concierge, and he helps me link my room reservation. Great, now I see FP+. I go back to my room and try to make FP+ reservations for the next day. But I can't make them for my daughter or DH because it says they don't have a ticker linked. I notice that I have two entries in MDE for them. When I entered them into MDe before the trip I used their nicknames, which is what I linked their tickets to- but their bands were linked to their full names on the reservation - so their bands and reservations were not linked. This was a PAIN!!! DVC concierge said he couldn't fix it, and that I should call help desk. Called the MDE help desk, and after 45 minutes and two different people (one of whom told me the concierge should be able to fix it), finally got someone who understood my problem, and could fix it. He told me he would fix it for me, I hung up and took a nap. When I got up it all worked.

All was good for me, DD's and DH, but my parents couldn't access the reservation number (we are on the same reservation), because I had already used it. That meant that their tickets were Also not linked to their bands.

Basically the same issue, so the next day we all walked down to the concierge am hour before we wanted to leave for the park, and spent 45 minutes with the concierge on the phone with the help desk. We were prepared for it to take a while, and it did. Luckily it was not crowded, or it easily could have taken more than an hour.

From that point on things have worked well. My advice would be to make sure you link your reservation in MDE BEFORE you link your tickets.
And to make sure that the person you are linking the ticker with, shows that they have a magic band.

This may be a case of me knowing just enough to really mess things up while I was trying to fix them.

I find the MDE FP+ section very clunky. I have been able to do what I want, but I can only make one change at a time, and then have to go all the way back to the main FP+ menu. It has definitely taken Some getting used to, and it is not particularly user friendly. Also, the "my plans" section of MDE shows FP+'s that I have already changed or deleted, and doesn't show others at all.

I have enjoyed using the FP+, as it let us get on toy story this evening without getting there at rope-drop, and got us the best seats I have ever had for the Beluty and the Beast stage show. It was worth the hassle for me, because I always knew I could go back to my old system if the a failed. I only fooled around with getting it working because I had the time and wanted to. I definitely saw other people VERY frustrated at the concierge desk.

Hope this helps our those headed here soon!

Anyone else have major problems booking FP's in MDE? It deleted all my DH's selections. I went to change this morning and all FP's for one day completely disappeared and now we have 6 each for 2 different days. I'm so confused!!:confused3 We leave in 11 days and at this point I'm thinking of just asking for the regular cards and doing away with our Magic Bands.

MDE has been seriously wacky for me for the past day. Anything I touch seems to do what I want, but in the end the FP+ disappears. It's not been pretty. I would LOVE to make changes to tomorrow, but I am pretty certain a change would result in the loss of a FP+. Stick the the bands, but use your KTTW cards for regular FP when you need to.

Thanks so much for posting your experience! :thumbsup2 I think the more information we have before our trips, the more we can try to ward off any problems beforehand.

I have already separated out my in-laws (who are in a separate room and have a shorter stay) from my MDE account. That was a big red flag someone brought up last week. I set up their MDE accounts myself, so that I could have control since I am planning all details of trip. But, I could not figure out how to get their reservation from my MDE account to theirs, as it (similar to you) said the reservation was already linked to an account. :confused3 After a hold of 25 minutes, and it took IT CM just a few minutes to get that fixed. Now we all have separate MDE accounts, but I can make all their FP+ and dining ressies, etc. I am hoping for a good experience once we are there, and IMO if it gets us a fast pass for TSM without having to make rope drop then it was worth the hassle! ::yes:: But, I will certainly be taking our KTTW cards with us just in case. And I agree about the FP+ part of the whole MDE app and/or website.... very cumbersome. Hope they will find some pixiedust: magical way to improve that very soon!

Thanks!!

Curious - does anyone have any information on whether or not resort guests will continue to receive KTTW cards for Nov/Dec ressies. I arrive "home" (staying at POP this trip) Thanksgiving Day and staying through Dec 5. MBs are customized and FP+ have all been reserved. I'm excited to have all those details done, but really hoping I can double dip on FP_ too. I have heard that Dec 1 is soft opening. Does this mean no more FP_?
