***NEW MyMagic & FastPass+ Official Information & FAQ Thread***

I just booked a BOG lunch fastpass plus using the website link, it's not showing up on my disney experience, anybody else had that happen? We leave tomorrow and I'm worried about showing up and there being nothing on my band showing BOG.

Did this last weekend, it did not show up in my disney experience either, but they had no issues finding my name when I got there. After you get past the first spot where they check your name, you walk up to another person by the door and they scan again. If you pre-ordered, they will print your receipt and have you go pick your seat. Our pre-order did not show up correctly, so they had us go to the line to make our orders at the little touchscreen stations.

The CMs seemed a bit frazzled, so they didn't really have the time to explain the system; but you go get drinks, get silverware and find a seat. Based on the RFID on your magicband or the little "rose" puck looking thing if you don't have the band, they know exactly where you are sitting and in about 10 minutes or less will come over with your food on a cart, they use the receipt to double check the order.

Okay, who saw this coming? A FB friend is posting that the computers went own at the resorts today, and they had to be given temporary paper tickets - magic bands are not working, and online check-in had disappeared.:headache:

Yes, there are bling items to add to the bands. Also, your name will be printed underneath to distinguish between the MBs. :)

Great! I didn't see an option to purchase the bling when customizing my bands. Do they sell it on-line or do I have to wait until I get down there?

There's a couple of shops online that sell some; but most of the selection right now is at the parks and the shops in the resorts.

BTW, when we checked in, the CM gave us a cool little glow in the dark 2013 charms that you slide on the magic band. If you don't get offered one, might want to ask about it as I saw a few others in line that didn't get them.

78 days out today, was able to customize my magic bands!!!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

When I tried to add FP+, the site did pull up dates that are the week before my dates, but then the error message came up. I'm getting excited though that I'll be able to book them reallyyyyy soon. :)

I just got the message to accept my bands too. We arrive january 22. We just returned last weekend and already have our bands from that trip. So we will have another set now. My daughter also got two offers of bands during her trip with us last week. She ignored the second set because she had already customized and received her first set. Upon checkin, she had the second set in grey waiting for her. I don't like the new tiered EPCOT part now. While we were there for the past two weeks, we didn't have the tiered part to deal with.

Ugh! Does that effect getting into the rooms?

Just think what would happen if fastpass system goes down and those are lost for a day.

I am now able to Customize my MB for our January trip. Problem is, my son is not listed. He is listed on the ressie but not n the MB area. Could it be because he's 19? Does he need to create an account and then invite him as a fame member

We so excited but are anxious to get our FP booked. Will the window open up soon? Will the Epcot tiered system still be in place in Jan? TIA!!:goodvibes

I am surprised - I just check my MDE and we can customize our bands now too but still can not book FP+. I imagine we wont be able to get the FP+ until 60 days before. We check in on February 14, 2014.

They had lost the online checkin information, but regular checkin was still functioning. I think they were able to issue them regular key cards, but not sure. They had lost all the FP+ info also. :headache: I'm sure they were able to get the info back and made up for it. Just a :headache: and it is not really fully in place yet.:rolleyes1

Did you creat an account for him in your friends and family? You need to do that if you haven't. No he doesn't need an account. My son in law does not have an account, so I created one for him in my account that I manage and he showed right up and was linked to one of the room reservations I had linked to my account. I had no problems making his FP+ selections. My daughter had her own account, so we had to send invitations back and fourth to link us up, and then click share all activities and I also was able to make FP+ selections for her too.

BTW, we were not given the 2013 slider. I guess our resort had run out (BWV) and we asked at a couple of the guest relations spots in the parks and they too had run out, so we never had any, though we did see some folks with them. It may have helped a little since my granddaughters band broke on day 2 of the trip because the pins snapped off.

Interestingly I originally noticed him missing on the mobile app. When I got home and logged on he was there. So it must have been a glitch with the app.

We purchased our annual passes online this morning. Can I assume that the paper vouchers we'll get in a week or two will contain the numbers we need to link them to DME?

Honestly...I think this sort of thing depends on the skill of the employee doing it.

And Disney's staff quality is erratic and not intensively trained as it once was.

It's been this way for awhile...with all their systems.
Some people are whizzes that can do anything quickly...and some could screw up a one car funeral (but they'll stand there and tell you everything is fine...hoping you'll just leave and everything will just work out)

My advice with any ticket/charge/key issues is and always will be: make them prove that they did what you want and get a name on it...
But also be polite and non-confrontational.
Often they're doing the best they can and the failure is in the structure somewhere higher up the food chain.

I can already see how the FP+ could have an effect on moving people from DAK season to off peak. I am already trying to figure out ways to negate these changes with FP in regards to my trip. The easiest way is to schedule trips when crowds are lower and need for fastpass is lower.

During non peak time, the fastpass+ system will work the way everyone wants it to work. Book three ideal times for special events, you most likely won't have much trouble getting them a few days online before you go, and there will e much flexibility to change the day of, very much like the early tests with limited participants.

Then visitors would be able to use the short standby lines to do everything else.

I usually go in June and July, and even though crowds are high, the FP- system worked well for us. But now with online battles in advance, less flexibility on the day of, limits to fastpasses and much longer standby times I can see where it could be dramatically different experience in May.

This could stack the deck more for non peak driving customers that direction.

This makes me wonder if this whole scenario will be the downfall of nonpeak as we know it. I know our trip this October was much more crowded than a usual October, also reported by others. So once all this gets really rolled out...makes me wonder.

I know it is going to be the downfall of the soft side of the daily schedules.

Disney has basically taken the data from all the touring plans and figured out a way to distribute people more evenly. Move from busy times to slow times. I fear that enjoying a low crowd animal kingdom after 3:30 will be a thing of the past. If all the fastpass times are booked on the evening those people will probably stick around.

Best park day? Could those be eliminated by fastpass+? Maybe that is why EMH are being chopped, best park worst park days are driven by EMH schedules.

Maybe even rope drop will be affected if people are stuck with early fastpasses, will that be motivation to get them to the park?
