Ok you all have convinced me to look into buying a new RV/ Motorhome/ Disney traveler LOL :) Talked DH into buying one used we will be looking at buying around next FEB. Any advice? Looking at 15000 to 20000 cash only of course.

If you are buying used make sure it has not leaked water can ruin a trailer.

Try not to buy the first thing you look at. That has been my biggest problem. Good thing I had Lisa to keep me in line. When we bought our fiver, we eventually got an insane deal from a dealer. Then when we went to trade in, I was ready to sign for one that I thought was the best we could do. a week later we got one that I didn't think we could afford SWEEEEET .

Wow Thanks. Cant wait but one good thing we are going to do a lot of browsing before we buy as we arent buying until February of 09 and hopefully will be going to the Fort in June of 09. Now to stay within budget LOL

If it has low miles sure is was not someone fulltime or part-time home look at all the furniture for wear.

take someone with you who knows about RV's or have a RV service place look at it before you buy it. Look underneath at the chassis and tanks. maybe even rent it or use it for a weekend before purchase.

Thank long and hard about what you want to do with your camper. How many people you want to sleep, If you need a separate sleeping area for a guest, Will you ever want to haul a golf cart with you, Do you want a comfortable place to watch TV,Do you want a large bathroom or is a small one ok, Do you want bunk beds, Do you need slides, 1 door or 2, There is more to thank about but thats all I have for now.

wow thanks great tips. We went browsing today with teen girls Whew! They are sooo the pickey ones. Ran across a couple of issues. One Maybe I have become high maintainance in the past few years. But I have all of these requirements such as pay cash 15000-20000 and want a decent one. It seems the yea of the 90's is where we will end up. Carpet many times was needing replaced. A horrible smell in most of them and strange dingy colors. Am I picky? Should I overlook this and just be thankful not to have to take a tent? :worship: My teen girls were worse they were worried about being embarrased because they arent like the 150,000 dollar ones but we wont be living in it either. Any comments or experiences?

I would say you are acting correctly. If you are not picky, you will get burned, I am sorry. I took the first thing (DH and I) saw and we paid for it on our TT. It had water leaking in the bathroom and the front door seal. Of course, not knowing what we were doing, we paid the price for it when we sold it two and a half years later. The water really showed after it survived three hurricanes. We had to have the floor replaced in both spots. We kind of stumbled on the RV, but did our research and had a mechanic come and check it out and a local RV repairman that we used for our popup and TT before come and check it out. I know we couldn't have got a better deal on that coach, period. Remember, don't take anyone's word at the dealership for anything. Check everything out to save yourself lots of $$ down the road.
