As for Halloween, this is baby #1, so she's just going as a 24-week-old fetus. I thought about dressing up, but what to go as? A pumpkin? A shotgun bride?

I think so. I saw her post on another thread. My brother was born about that early, but that was 30+ years ago, so it was pretty scary then. Now, it's not so bad.

I, too, was 2 months premature and weighed about 4 lbs. That was almost 38 years ago.

He was in the Navy at the time, stationed at Camp David in Maryland. So, a couple of days later, we met halfway for our "1st date". Please don't ask where we spent most of that date at...

Anyway, we were living together by New Years and got married in Oct.


Now here we are, almost 6 years since that Halloween party, expecting our 3rd child together! We drive each other crazy, but we are still in love!

Had our ultrasound this morning and baby was not modest at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DH and I go to an annual Halloween party...the theme this year is deserted island ... there are 3 other couples we hang out w/ all the time so our group is going as Gilligans Island. DH and I are the Howells. Shouldn't be too hard to pull off I might wear a pumpkin outfit when I take them trick or treating- I would not need the stuffing this year!!!

What a great idea!!! It sounds like its going to be alot of fun!

Cord Blood Banking!

Has anyone ever donated or stored your cord blood? Or do you plan on doing so?

I really wanted to donate the cord blood, but the places that collect at our hospital do not accept it from multiples. That was kind of a bummer to hear.

There is no way in heck we could afford to bank the cord blood for the babies ourselves.

We donated Evan's cord blood. It's just too expensive to do it on our own.

If I can donate it, I will. I'm not sure if I'll be eligible. I cannot donate my own blood.

My SIL's father had chronic lymphocytic leukemia, and went for a cord blood transfusion in March to cure the leukemia. He, unfortunately, died in June, but due to "treatment-related mortality". It was unexpected because he was very healthy. The cancer was gone, the transfusion worked. Cord blood is especially helpful for people like him who aren't white and have difficulty finding a good match.

Haven't been around in a little while and just wanted to check in!

Started having extreme swelling in my legs and hands and had a doctor's appointment about a week ago and they found protein in my urine and my BP was up. I'm officially on bedrest now - fun, fun, fun! Only 11 weeks until my due date, but I don't think Ava is going to wait that long! I have a doctor's appointment at 30 weeks, one at 32 weeks, an u/s at 32 weeks, one at 34 weeks, and then every week until Ava decides to make an appearance!

My baby shower is October 25th and I am so excited!!

7 weeks of bedrest isn't easy, but you can do it!!! . I went on bedrest at 28 weeks with DS#1. It's good that it's your first baby, because I can't imagine doing it with little ones running around. I'm still hoping I don't have to this time around.

I will say, I'm glad I had that time where I was "forced" to rest. You won't ever have time like that again and it will keep your little one safe.

Enjoy your baby shower! You will have so much fun and lots of stuff to look at and fold to keep you busy during bedrest.

I had a lot of fun ordering baby stuff online! It was exciting to get all of those deliveries.

I do want to give you advice on one thing. Don't get in the mindset that she is going to come early. If she doesn't, those last few weeks are killers waiting!





***Had my cervical length ultrasound check on Friday! My cervix did not change at all in 4 weeks! For me, this is really good. Hopefully, this trend will continue and I can feel good about my decision not to have any intervention this pregnancy.***

am still at 1.5 dialated and been this way since last week. Her due date is the 26th but don't know if she wants to make an early apperance. Hubby keeps telling me "let her out" I keep telling him it not up to me Its up to her and I guess she is too comfy and doesn't want out

we have some SERIOUS nesting going on at our house! i don't remember it happening quite this early w/ my other children ...
currently, I cannot stop cooking!! I am running out of freezer space and tupperware. today I made two batches of enchiladas, brownies, chili and butternut bisque ... I seriously need to stop. I don't even want to EAT I just need to cook!!!
Is anyone else nesting?

Hi ladies, just checking in. Welcome to all the new babies & pregnant Mom's.

Had my nuchal translucency screening yesterday, everything looks great. They still have to assess the bloodwork but the ultrasound looked very reassuring.
They say it's girl! Amazing at this early date they can tell!
Has anyone else had an ultrasound this early (about 13 weeks) & were they able to determine gender?

Hi ladies! Just checking in. Everything is great here - baby girl is growing and growing, and I still feel pretty good. Only a few more days until the third trimester - this time, pregnancy is just flying by! At my last appointment, I scheduled my c-section, so unless she decides to come sooner, baby will be born on January 19! It feels so weird to have a date. I hope everyone else is having smooth sailing, too!

H and I went on our "alone" trip to the Poly in September and it was WONDERFUL!! That will be the last chance for that for a long time, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We couldn't go at the same pace that we usually do, but itwas actually nice to slow down and see things in a different way. I made sure to rest when I needed to and stay hydrated, and everything was great.

Someone asked about cord blood banking. We banked DD #1's CB with Viacord. There is a fairly extensive history of blood-related cancers in my family (leukemia and lymphoma), and so we really felt like it was important to take the chance while we had it. Yes, it was very expensive, but we decided early on in the pregnancy that we wanted to do it, so we budgeted and saved for it. We are still discussing what to do this time around, but we will probably bank again.
