I have heard this too. Something about the proteins and fats in the milk, etc. I think.
Disclaimer: I'm not an expert. I'm just recalling my own personal experience. Nothing is set in stone.![]()
It's more like your body syncs itself. Like right now your body is still getting used to the changes; dramatic change in hormones, producing milk and adjusting the supply to meet the needs of the baby. Switching the composition of the milk you are producing. Stuff like that. Leaking is like a side effect of all that.
I just remember my body getting used to nursing and somehow I just didn't leak like in the beginning. But man if I heard a baby crying in a store or something, I'd feel my milk let down and leak a little. It was not any major leakage like in the beginning, however I may have had to change my shirt.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that the potential for leakage was always there.
This makes sense. I know every woman is different, but it's nice to know that the leaking could possibly dwindle down to not much or anything at all!! I have been trying the milk and the lansinoh and last night felt much better than yesterday afternoon, so hopefully that combo is really helping.
