New MK Paid Disney After Hours Event Announced

I wonder if there was a question on the survey about whether the guest would be willing to pay $150 for an identical event in the future.

Not worded that way, no...more along the lines of whether we would want more events like this and what we liked or disliked about them overall.

The cynic in me is wondering whether the DVC Member events in February and early March were test balloons for this exact event. They certainly sent out enough surveys after the fact, and the events sound almost identical.

Plus, doesn't the description for this after hours event say "select attractions"? So people wouldn't even have access to the whole park?

They're going to fill Stitch and Laugh Floor if it's the last thing they do!

Maybe they are going to roll out the Disney version of FOTL pass. That price would make more sense for something like that. Disney has me shaking my head lately. I can remember when all of the dessert parties started popping up for a fraction of the price they are now. I was like nope even when they were way cheaper. I'm super glad Disney has people willing to pay ridiculous prices for ridiculous things. I'm just not gonna be one of those people.

I think I've read most of this thread but might have missed it - what did the DVC member events entail? Just rides? Rare characters? Food and beverages? I'm just curious if it was a test run what they'd be offering for that price point.

I remember when DD told us the Hat was being taken down and destroyed. NO ONE had leaked it. I'm like THIS IS HUGE!!! I WANT TO TELL, mostly cause I hated it. For almost a month we bit our lips and talked among ourselves trying to scratch the itch. Finally it broke ... and to us it was old news. Then all the "oh they'll save it, they'll move it" ........... no they are going to cut it up.

But today we actually knew before the insiders, we told them. And then all H-LL broke loose!!!

Well of course no charge for the DVC event...we actually bailed at the last minute due to one of our group getting sick, but they had Tomorrowland, Fantasyland, some of Frontierland, and HM open, plus some cool and rarer characters (I've forgotten who, sorry) and lots of treats. Oh, and a stage show in Tomorrowland, and the aforementioned fireworks. No booze.

I can only imagine! What is it that your DD does--is that shareable info?

I actually loved the hat, but I hadn't visited DHS pre-hat (was it still MGM then?) and I completely love F!, so it fit my sense of the park well enough. I can see wanting to share the info really badly, especially when you see debates all over the boards about some of this stuff!

So any guesses how it would work on the dates? Like people at a party where they try and block you from being in the further parts of the park and directing you to the front at the official close time? ( In our case May 19, that is 11 pm) That is when we usually do our last pics with castle, get ice cream and snacks and do our shopping on the way out...all after the official close time.

Will they block us at stores, food right at 11? No more photopass on way out? Or do you think it would be like EMH ( I cant see this being the case) where you just cant do the rides and Meets?

Worse case is the change the hours to 7/8 and give us the boot without the parade and FW. Then I will be very ticked off!

I'm not sharing it. I didn't leak it. I haven't expanded on it.
It was already leaked, some potential details were leaked, none from me.
I only verified that the event is true, not some jump the shark idea.
I gave no other details about it or anything else.
We'll have to see how this one plays out because the Mouse is mad.

You are absolutely correct and I say that often. And even if Disney announces something, that doesn't make it happen either. Things change.

It is only happening if it is actually happening.

Sadly information has leaked, probably from a CM, that has messed up a plan.

Who knows, they may scrap the whole thing now.

The problem with all of this is that you know it is just the beginning. Disney will push and push that line in the sand until the MK is closing at 8 every night, there will be more and more tickets sold for the after hours until it is just like a regular day crowd and then the price will double due to " demand".
