New MK Paid Disney After Hours Event Announced

Could the $150 include a daytime ticket? Or is it really JUST for 3 hours?

I guess if they could bump up the Villains thing at HS from $99 to $129, $149 for 3 hours at MK is supposed to be a bargain.

Well ... Club Villain includes a full heavy buffet of food; dessert party; all you can drink beer, wine and delicious specialty drinks with the dancing, show and four awesome character meets. So far I'm only hearing "rare characters" "shorter lines" and that all depends on your perspective.

I would be in if they come up with lots of rare characters and extremely limited number of tickets sold ........... and throw in those DVC fireworks!!

The only way I would pay that is if it is anything like those conference events at the MK. They will have to offer food and drinks . If it is just and extra 3 hours of rides there is just no way.

They are starting to make it seem the $15 resort fee for extra magic hours reasonable :crazy2:

If it is a Limited number of tickets per night, and a reasonably low number of true LIMITED tickets available and they make everyone leave the park prior to the start of the event like they used to do for the EE events , we would do this in a heart beat.

Yes there was, E-ride nights. Same thing (E-rides open and characters wandering) but for $10 (that's ten, no mistake, it was that cheap), and max attendance was 5000, so it was empty.

It was really awesome.
And what was ticket cost at that time?

$150 and no booze? not happening. not even food apparently. Haven't seen anybody mention food. For that price there has to be something else involved rather than just a glorified EMH.

If I were to even think about it (I'm not) I would want to know exactly how limited ticket sales are for this thing.

In over 30 years of going, the only special party event I've ever been to was the dessert party when it first started, it was a one and done and I felt ripped off since I didn't think the space was very special (the big ole bush and head in my avatar, it was taken there) so I certainly won't be paying for this. In all fairness, I rarely do EMHs any more either, just don't stay up that late any more and while I'm usually up in the mornings, I don't want to fight the crowds at rope drop. Glad I'm old and don't go for rides that much any more.

I have no doubts in my mind at all that people will be paying this. It likely wouldn't even surprise me if it sells out.

$150 for a 3 hour event plus $15 premium parking ... people will pay it.

It would have to include an amazing amount of extras, particularly since 4/13 has EMH and is open until 1am. Now if it gave me the opportunity to do a margarita crawl through MK, I may seriously consider buying those tix!

It would be cheaper than the VIP Tours. At it's lowest it's $400 per hour. So 3 x $400 = $1200. I'll go with a big family of 6, they are still saving $300. There will be people who will pay it. Will it be considered a sellout/success ...... :confused3 but if this is legit I guess we will see.

maybe that is their strategy:

"First, we put out the thought of charging a $15/night resort fee ... then we put out the rumor of $149 fee for EMH .... then people will gladly pay the $15 resort fee thinking that they are getting something valued at $149 for only $15 - it's genius!"

Considering if I get to the park at 9am - on a non-morning EMH day - I can get through everything important to me by noon, no way I'm paying for this.
Unless, the real magic is they transport guests back to 1985 and you can ride Mr. Toad, the Skybuckets, 20,000 Leagues, etc again.
But I'm a jaded local now, so...

Several months back There was a survey from Disney sent out about park tickets

One of the questions was would you be willing to pay a premium for little or no waits. Most took that as reference to tiered pricing. Guess Disney had something else in mind

Ridiculous for 3 hrs. It would be fine if they don't close the park early but at this price you know it will be 8-11 or something like that and the rest of the guest will just get $crewed

The fact that the original post reports that the price for children is also $150 makes me wonder if maybe there WILL be booze.
