New MK Paid Disney After Hours Event Announced

I'm predicting this is exactly the same as the 25th anniversary DVC Night that happened last month.

That was ultimately used as a test bed for this event. Tim Tracker attended:

If it is as quiet and cool as that event $150 may be worth it. But I need more info before I shell out that kind of cash on an event which currently states Novelty Ice Cream as its main selling point.

I agree that this is similar to the Diagon Alley events happening privately lately. MK is just too dang big to get anything of value in 3 hours. They will have to open it up earlier like 5 or 6 PM, let ticketed users get FP+ until 11 and then get 3 hours more until 2 AM at least. Those 3 hours are going be like EMH and most rides are going to be closed anyways. $150 for 9 hours in MK still doesn't make it better for me than a one day ticket, this is double than the parties! They have to include something else.

The links just prove it's coming. Of course Disney can't post anything of value when it's just weeks away, come on!

Nope, still not interested. Perhaps, and that's a big perhaps, if I decided to just do a 4 day pass for my dh, but added a 5th day using that $149 deal, maybe. We wouldn't go to a park that day, but enter at 7 and get those 6 hrs for the $149.
The whole 'number of tickets sold will be limited'? Yeah, limited to whoever wants to buy them. I well remember the 'old' days of the parties. We got so much more for our money...a less money than parties now!!! And as the years went by, Disney raised the cost of the parties, took away some discounted nights, took away the pins and photos they gave you free, all while selling more and more tickets. Some of the parties I've been to are just as crowded as a Saturday!!

I love Disney, I truly do. But, it's getting to the point where it's getting hard to keep that love alive. I can afford the cost....but, there is no way I am going to pay for that. It's money grabbing, plain and simple. They seem to be taking away some EMHs, charging an obscene amount of money, and giving you a small area of the entire park to 'enjoy', but heck..you get free Mickey bars and soda!! Maybe some corn dogs at Casey's. And sales will be limited...to what we will never know.

I'd go just for the singing ghosts at the haunted mansion. I'd stand there for an hour just listening to that. And the tightrope walker!

But Club Villain is a full buffet, unlimited alcohol, private assigned tables, private scheduled meets with characters, music and dancing. This is a Mickey bar and a bottle of soda. Not quite the same.

I'm also going to be very curious as to how much they jack up the party prices this year.

That is my fear now as well. I planned on 3 MVMCP's this year. Now I am a little worried about what the cost may be.

Prior to this announcement, I had access to a resource for a certain set of dates and times.
After this announcement, there is NO CHANGE to the access I have to that same resource.
I now have a new option to pay for additional access that I didn't have before.
I see the price and I can choose to take advantage or ignore it completely.

That's it.

When any of the theories bandied about come to pass, I will react to the facts at the time.
I have enough issues that I am aware of to be worried or angry over things that may never happen.

I'm not able to view the page properly (mobile or regular site) --- so I called and they have no idea what the MK After Hours was.

It would likely work for us if we can get the night we want as we wouldn't get to the park that day until after 6pm. We were planning to buy 1 day MK tickets for that night anyway so the difference in price between the 1 day ticket and the event ticket isn't huge --- especially if crowds are lower and some snacks are included.

I'll probably call again later --- hopefully the info will be out to the cm's soon

It also DOESN'T include access to the park/rides, so there's your trade.

They have said the tickets won't go on sale till April 6th (I think that's the date) so unlikely for them to know more now

The only impact it may well have is the crowd levels on days that people already have plans to be in the park, ADRs, FPS, etc. Other than that, you're correct, no real impact.

I honestly don't see why so many people are upset about the cost for this ultra-exclusive event.
I personally cannot wait to take my kids and hang out at MK with Jay-Z and Beyoncé's kids. The 1 percent have needs too.
