New Mission Space

I read somewhere that there was a new (tamer) Mission Space ride. How long has this been there. We went in Sept 05 and I don't think we rode it. I was sick for hours, so it must have been the original ride.

What is the new one like? Has anyone ridden it who has also ridden the original that could compare for me? What age would you say would be the youngest someone could go on the new ride? Tell me all about it.

It just "opened" in mid May '06.

And its not really so much "new" (as in a new ride) as it is a "newly-AVAILABLE CHOICE" you can make.

They just split the loading queues at the door into two lines.

One goes to the "regular" full-effect M:S (with the spinning centrifuge).

The other line goes to the "less intense" version (they don't activate the centrifuge on that side.)

On both sides, the individual 4-person capsules "move" (change angles) in sync with the film of the adventure, but the less-intense side does not experience the extra "G-forces" from the centrifuge.

You can pick, at the front door, which version you want to experience.
