New Member Timing Question

I have a question about timing. All of the items needed to close are now in the hands of the professionals, so they have everything they need.

Also, I am going to Disney on the 17th of this month and would love to be able to go to SSR and get my DVC membership card so that I can take advantage of the DVC discounts while I am there.

Assuming a closing within the next day or so, is there any chance Disney will have me set up as a new member by the 17th so that I can get a membership card for the trip?

I'm hoping to hear that it closed today, but really expect to hear that it happened on the 5th or 6th. Will 10 calendar days for Disney be a realistic possibility? Will it make a difference that they are setting me up as a new member as opposed to just loading points for an existing member?

your timing is very tight but it isn't impossible you will have to wait and see.

You may get into the system just under the wire for your trip. It's been taking a couple of weeks for contracts and points to get loaded into the system. The issue you may run into is whether or not the DVC center will give you a membership card if you don't have your member number. That comes via snail mail once your contract/points are loaded.

I've heard instances of MS giving out the member numbers by phone. If that is possible it may make getting the card possible. Alot of finger crossing on my part though.
