o.k. we finally signed the papers and I can not wait to start planning our first trip to SSR as a DVC Memer! I have a couple questions for you veterans about DVC and SSR.

When will I get my pin for the DVC member site? We just sent paperwork and the rest of our downpayment in this week. We are closing on 2/12:yay: . Can't wait to start planning.

What building or location would you reccommend at SSR? I have young kids (DS6 and DD2.5) and they like being able to walk to the main pool and food court. Also, DH has a thing about parking the car when we arrive and not moving it again until it is time to head back to the airport. We have 220 points and will most likely get a 1 bedroom on most trips.

When we took the tour in January, we left the kids in a supervised gameroom. Is there a similar member gameroom? If so is it supervised? Is there an additional cost for if kids want to hang out there?

Do you leave a tip for the weekly MouseKeeping?

Thanks for your help!

Hi, I don't have all the answers, but thought I would help with the ones I knew. You can call MS to get your pin number. Ours never came and when I called they just gave me DH and my own on the phone.

We haven't stayed there yet, so I can't answer the question about the best building.

When we did the tour they did show us an arcade, which is not supervised and another activity room where there are planned projects and a game table; this room wasn't supervised either, although I think there would be a CM there for activities. Hope this helps.

Welcome home, neighbor! We own SSR too.

Closest place is the Springs. Three buildings directly across the street from the High Rock Springs Pool, Community Hall and Artist Point. We were in the building where the preview rooms are. Got up and strolled over to AP every morning for our drink refills, passed through the pool all the way. We were there in December so it was too chilly for swimming.

If you're in the Paddocks there's a lake with bridge to cross. Adds about 5 min to your walk. The new Grandstand Area may be a bit closer and has its own themed pool area. It's set to open this Spring. Congress Park is another 5 minutes in the opposite direction, but it faces Congress Park. The Carousel is probably the only area you'd want to avoid. All areas have their own pool and bus stops, so your hubby can park that car and leave it.

There's the Community Hall. Includes an arcade and activities area. Not supervised but there are guided activities. It's by the High Rock Springs pool.

Thanks BroganMc & prince&princess. Very helpful.
BroganMc, I see you are going to be at SSR for NYE. DH and I just started flipping through the calendar last night and we will be at SSR on NYE too (12/28 - 1/5 actually). This will be our 3rd NYE trip but first at SSR. I wonder if we will be able to see fireworks from "home"? We try and stay out of parks on NYE but it would be nice to be able to see the fireworks.

Congrats!
We just signed the papers 2 days ago!!:)

They said we would get the pin in about a week..
