I am a new member with an Oct use year, still waiting on the paper work, but pretty sure that is what it is. We are not returning to Walt Disney World till next Feb. What is the banking window for these 2005 points, I am a new member and would not have had the opportunity to bank these till I bacame a member. Does anyone know if they will let me bank my 2005 points 100% for my 2006 trip. HELP!!!

Since you have an October use year:

Your 2005 points are good for stays that occur between 10/1/3005 and 9/30/2006. If you bank them, they become valid for stays that occur between 10/1/2006 and 9/30/2007.

With an October use year, you may bank up to 100% of your total annual alltoment as long as you do it before the end of the following March.

You may bank up to 50% of your total annual allotment if you do it prior to the end of June and up to 25% if you do it before the end of the July. No banking is allowed in August and September if you have an October use year.

Banking percentages are cumulative. For example, if you have 200 points, and bank 75 of them in February, you could only bank 25 more (50% of your total) if you call to bank between 4/1 and 6/30. If you call to bank more, but wait until 7/1 or later, you could not bank any additional points because you already have more than 25% of your annual total banked for that use year.

If you just bought, don't worry if you aren't in the system yet. (If you already have a member number, you can call MS today or tomorrow and bank - no worries).

If you don't have a member number yet, just call MS (or your guide) when you get one and MS will bank your points for you. This is a common occurence for brand new members, so don't worry about it. This assumes you bought directly from Disney.

Best wishes -

When we were new members we had until the closing date of the loan to bank any points. For us our Aug point were supposed to be banked by the end of January but we got until closing which was around February 15th

I'm a new member with an Oct UY. Like a previous poster mentioned, you have until the end of March to bank 100% of your points. Get on the phone, lol! :teeth:

I don't believe anything other than your down payment clearing has to be finalize in order to bank, borrow, or make ressies. :thumbsup2

If you bought a resale get the salesman to help you mine did me and I had a Oct UY with 05 points. All is well with mine.

If you purchased directly from Disney you should have a small grace period to bank 100% your points. We recently purchased through Disney with an October use year and we were told we could bank 100% of our points up until our closing date (which is next month). :sunny:

I'm also a new member. As long as you purchased through Disney they give you 45 days in which to bank your 2005 points. I also have an October UY. I banked mine in earlier April. This was a concern of mine since I knew I couldn't use the points before the UY but didn't want to lose them! You guide can help you. :cool1:

I am also a new member w. UY October beginning 2005. You have until your closing date to bank the full 100% of the 2005 points. You have a grace period since buying directly through Disney and being a new member. Also you do not have to wait for the paper work to be finalized to start banking or making reservations. We even had temporary membership cards delivered to our resort 2 weeks ago so we could take advantage right away for member perks such as upgrading our park tickets to annual passes at DVC discount in preparation for our trip next January (our first DVC trip) :cloud9: .

I just called last week and banked all my points in preparation. Now just waiting for the 7mth window to open to make my reservations for January 2007.

Hope this helps!!!

PS Welcome home!!! :grouphug: I just love saying that!!! :wizard:
