I'm signing on the dotted line right this moment, and will be the proud new owner of 300 BCV points. I have 2 quick questions that I know you folks have the answers to. So .....

Is there any type of transportation services to and from the airport available to members besides renting a car or acquiring taxi service. Does the DVC offer the services of those big blue vans? Cost?

Here's my particulars - I have 300 points with a June 2002 Use Year. I want to take a 450 point vacation in August 2003. When I call to make my ressie next week or so, and I'm in possession of this years 300 points, am I banking those 300 points into next year, or am I borrowing 150 pts from 2003 use year to make the ressie.

As for question #1 - there is not official DVC transportation from the airport. Disney in general endorses Mears Van Service. My family prefers the privacy of towncars (Which by the way cost about the same as the Mears Vans if you have 4 people)

As for question#2 . If you want to bank all 300 ofyour June 2002 points into your June 2003 use year, you will be using your banked points and 150 of your June 2003 points. The points you use are based on when you vacation, not when you book it

I wouldnt use mears from the airport,they charge by the passenger and if you have 4 people thats arond100 bucks.you are better off renting a car like I do.cost you about the same,plus you have the car at your need!!

For August 2003, you would be using 300 banked 2002 points and 150 current 2003 points. One problem - you can't bank points until you close on your contract. When is your anticipated closing date? When do you want to make the reservation? Sometimes your guide can help get exceptions to this rule.

August 2003 is in your 2003 use year so you will need to have 450 <b> year 2003</b> points.

To get 450 points into year 2003 can be done any number of ways.

1. Bank all of your 2002 points into 2003. This would give you 600 2003 year points. You could then even bank 150 of 2003 points, leaving 450 left, and having 450 points again in 2004. (the 150 you banked plus your 2004 allotment of 300 pts)

2. Bank 150 of your 2002 points into 2003, and use the other 150 2002 year points sometime prior to May 31, 2003

3. Don't bank any points and use your 300 2002 points for something prior to May 31, 2003. For your 450 August 2003 vacation you would then need to use all 300 2003 points and borrow 150 2004 points.

4. Use all of your 2002 points for something prior to May 31, 2003. Also borrow 150 of your 2002 points and use them prior to May 31, 2003. For August of 2003 you then would still have 150 2003 points left over, but would need to borrow all of your 2004 points to have 450 points to use.

To simply it, make yourself a chart. Then knowing you can bank all or part of any year's points into the following year, and you can borrow all or part of any year's points into a prior year, you can see there are many ways to move points around.

2002 Jun 1, 2002 thru May 31, 2003 --- 300 pts
2003 Jun 1, 2003 thru May 31, 2004 --- 300 pts
2004 Jun 1, 2004 thru May 31, 2005 --- 300 pts
2005 Jun 1, 2005 thru May 31, 2006 --- 300 pts

August 2003 is part of your 2003 use year.

Dates for points are dependent on when the vacation is taken, not when the reservation is made.

As noted, you will not be able to bank your June, 2002 points until you actually close. This means you will not be able to book all of your 2003 vacation using the 2002 points. I'd recommend you reserve what you can using all of your 2003 "current year" points which become effective in June of 2003. Once you close, call back and extend the reservation and substitute the banked 2002 points freeing up the other 150 or so of the 2003 points which you could then bank or use for something else. Reserve what you feel are the most important and difficult days initially. Good luck.
