Hi, I just joined this board today because I'm apparently in charge of providing great meal experiences for an upcoming trip even though we don't know exactly who is coming and which days they will join us!

I don't expect you to solve that for me, but I may ask a lot of basic questions in the next week or two if you don't mind. I've been to Disney each year since 2014, but I've never planned anything, we just winged it. But this year, we're having a big blowout, with a bunch of family members who have never been here before, and they may not be able to make it back.

I'd like to ask a bunch of questions, but just one at a time. I have done a ton of reading on many Disney Boards to get the gist of things, but I do have some questions about the details, which is the help I'm asking for here.

First, our guest of honor's favorite characters are Lilo and Stitch (if you can believe that!) so I'd like to arrange a meal or find an event where they usually appear, and I haven't been able to. Any info from the pros here about where these guys appear?

Thanks.

Lilo and Stitch can be found at ‘Ohana during breakfast at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

I also believe there is a meet and greet for Stitch at MK.

Huge Stitch fan here too! The Poly breakfast is great - Mickey and Pluto were there as well (the last time we went was 2016). As PP said there is a M&G in Tomorrowland in MK. I'm not 100% sure that it's still there but Stitch also had a M&G at Typhoon Lagoon.

Since Ohana BREAKFAST is the only place they appear consistently, if you're 180 days out, you need to start looking for an ADR now for the MAXIMUM number of people who might be there. You can always drop numbers later, but you can't increase easily. Count 'em up and start stalking the reservation line.

Poly breakfast is where you will find those two! Make sure to book the ADR right at the 180 day mark.

Do you have an age range? My list depends on whether or not kiddos are along. Also, would you put more emphasis on the food, the experience or convenience?

Don't forget that when making an ADR it's better to enter more people than less. Easier to remove people from the reservation than add on.

Good advise above....we too are HUGE Lilo & Stitch fans and love the breakfast w/them at the Poly.

Edited: cause I forgot to say welcome to the boards! :welcome:

Poly it is then! Thanks for all the good info. Yes, I have a few more weeks to go before making the reservation. For just this instance, the characters are the important thing. One of the folks earlier mentioned a M & G with them at Tomorrowland, so I looked into that and discovered that Stitch's Great Escape is temporarily closed; that's all it says. So I don't know if that would affect the Meet and Greet as well.

My next question is about ADR's work specifically. I know that you have to have a Disney account, but do I have to name all the people who are going, and do they need a Disney Account?

They do not have to have a My Disney Experience account and you do not have to name them. You can just choose "guest" when you're entering the party information.

Welcome! Please ask us as many questions as you would like we are here to help and love talking about our favorite topic all things Disney.

Thank you so much. So pivoting to the next one, Cinderella's Table, I'm a bit unclear on the particulars. The Disney site says this is one of the places where you have to pay in advance which is fine, but then they list a range of prices for example Breakfast: $45 to $65 per adult. Is this because the price varies based on when you go? Also, would there be a problem with me making the reservation and paying for it, but not being one of those who want to go? I ask because the ladies in our party want this to be a "Girls Day Out", but I want to treat them, and again, I was elected to make all the arrangements so there's no mixups with multiple people making conflicting plans.

Yes the price varies based on when you go.
No problem with you making and paying for the ressie w/o being in attendance.

Hi! While thinking about the meals for your group you might want to check out allearsnet.com for all the menus in WDW and at the resorts and Disney Springs. Happy Planning!

Allow me to direct you to this sticky, which is at the top of this (Restaurant) forum: https://www.disboards.com/threads/buffet-character-shows-aycte-pricing.3108466/
That should help you with pricing for buffets and such.

You do not have to attend the res, when you book the ADR, it will ask who is attending and you will be listed as the top attendee. However, your name will be on a drop down list and you can choose whoever else you want.

Also, you do NOT have to add your traveling companions to your MDE, but in my personal experience, it is much easier to do so. Especially if you will also be responsible for booking FPs. If your group has children of varying heights, and groups who prefer different types of rides, you will have different FPs for similar times for different groups of people. It is MUCH easier to keep these things straight if you add them to your MDE. Also, if you are staying on property, you will need to add them to personalize your MBs. Once you do that, each person will be identified on your MDE and will be added to that drop down list i mentioned earlier. But even if you stay offsite, I would still recommend adding each person to your MDE as a Friend and Family member, so you can keep everyone's separate ADRs and FPs straight.

We just took our 9 yo niece who LOVES Stitch. I originally booked breakfast at Ohana so she could meet Lilo and Stitch, but ended up switching it to dinner because the food just didn't look that great at breakfast. We ended up meeting Stitch at Magic Kingdom and it was great! Make sure you bring bubbles to blow for him!
