Does anyone know if new members can still buy in to AKV or SSR with 100 points as opposed to the normal 160 point minimum? We want to buy points directly from DVC - not resale at this time though we will likely add on via resale in the future.

TIA!

We bought in to AKV last week at 100 points with a 10$ per point incentive and 2009 points with no fees for those 2009 points. Pm me you have any specific ? 'S

perhaps I'm wrong But I don't think you could ever buy in (first contract) for just 100 points.

I know you mentioned not wanting to buy resale but we just had a wonderful experience buying 100 SSR points from the Timeshare Store.

We paid 69.00 a point for 100 points. I made the offer on Feb 18th and It went very quickly. I just made our first reservation March 27th, just over 5 weeks!!!

I guess i AM wrong.....lol

I didn't mind waiting 5 weeks to get the points at 69.00 Although we didn't get all 100 of the 2009 points we got 64 of them. Enough to book 4 nights in a Savanah view studio at AKV in October!!!

That is a sweet deal!

There are alot of deals on the Timeshare Store's site. I might have a case of Addonitis coming. :)

Yes there are! We are planning a last-minute trip in early June to celebrate our 15th anniversary *without* the kids so going direct for our initial purchase made sense for us, especially with a small, 100 pt. contract. We eventually want to own around 220 pts. and we'll go the resale route for those.

It was very nice to surprise hubby this afternoon with the news that we are now DVC members! :yay: He got a promotion and raise today as well so this was icing on the cake. :) Our guide was able to get us 3 nights at BLT with a Magic Kingdom view before we move home to AKV for another 3 nights.

That's great news... congrats!

We did 100 points direct from Disney at AKV first contract. We got $15 off per point which was the deal they were running in Feb. We also got our 2009 points which is nice. Although you can get a cheaper price on resale, very few include banked points from previous years and some do not even include all current UY points so you have to consider that too. Then throw in a lower closing cost and the ability to use your points immediately for a small contract it makes sense. Not to mention my guide "magically" got me a ressie at BCV for Aug when I got nothing when I called on my own...

I told you Addonitis was setting in... We're under contract on a SSR add-on through Resale as of today! Just waitin' to pass ROFR & close.

Just bought OKW with extended years for 100 points @ $90/point. I know we could have gotten it for less through resale but we didn't want to go through the rollercoaster ride a resale might bring you...especially for our first buy in.
