New member...? about point transfers and UY

Hi everyone!

I am excited to be a new owner of a BWV resale!

I have a question about transfers. I know that there can be one per year. Does this mean that it is one per UY (mine turns in April) or per calendar year? Can I do a transfer now (feb) and another in April or just one for 2007?

Another question. I have an upcoming trip in April of 2008. I am confused about what points will be current points or borrowed points at that time. Will I need to bank my 2007/08 points to use for that trip? Does this make sense? The 4/08 trip will use my current points? So confusing! I guess I need to know if April marks the beginning or the end of the years points....

Your Use year begins April 1st each calendar year. Thus the last day of your Use Year is Feb 28th (or 29th)

Transfers are per Use Year. You are currently in your 2006 Use Year, so a transfer today would be 2006 Use Year points.

For an april 2008 vacation, you would need to use 2008 UY points. These could be current 2008 points, banked 2007 points, or borrowed 2009 points.

Would everyone believe this is absolutely the very 1st mistake I've ever made in a posting....

I'm wondering if you have terminology correct, OP. You asked about transfers first and then you asked about booking. Transfers involve bringing points in or out to other members. Booking would involve making a reservation with points from a specific use year. Remember that the 11 month booking window has nothing to do with use year. You can always book 11 months out from your home resort and 7 months out from the others. The points will be taken from the appropriate use year by MS, and they will handle the borrowing at that time as well. You need to be sure you do the banking parts in time yourself.
