New Me by New Year FINAL check-in 01/01/04!!

2 more pounds gone this week, which puts me at 20/23 for the challenge. I'm so close I can taste it! I'm a little nervous about making it, with all the celebratory meals coming up over the next two weeks, not to mention a week-long trip to my in-laws. For now, I'm really pushing the water and exercise this week, hoping to make my goal by next week - so all I'll have to do over Christmas week is maintain!

Great job everyone - you can do it!!

Sorry, I didn't check in last week, but didn't make it to WW weigh in, and so didn't have anything to post. This week I am down another 1.6 lbs, so I've updated my signature with new totals. - Not totally sure if I'll make my year end goal, but I should be pretty close if next couple of weeks go well. We don't have WW mtgs the next 2 Wednesdays due to holiday closings, so I will have to go by my home scale for totals.

Yesterday had a HUGE food day, so hopefully I can make up for it in the next week to keep down. We had a nice Turkey dinner at work for lunch for a "Snowflake Luncheon" for the end of the year, and I didn't hold back - including piece of pie and then last night we went to a movie and I chowed on popcorn, Twislers and Dippin' Dots. Calked it up to one wild day, and got back on track today.

Hope everyone has a great week!

Jen

lulu201 - good to see you checking in - and I really do believe that at this time of year to maintain is good work so well done you!!!

kasar - Hip Hip Hooray!! Well done on getting to your mini goal & one pound beyond!! Starting 2004 more than 20lb lighter how fantastic is that!!!

catherine - more than two weeks with the mouse & only up 1lb - that really is excellent! It sounds like you really enjoyed yourself & made great eating choices! Knowing how well you do I bet that pound is out the door by now!

Suzy Mouse - well done on the pound - I bet you are right & you probably lost more - the first pound is a good start to the challenge & your mini goal though! Good luck!

mommyflower - another half pound gone - good for you! I hope the end of TOM brings a whoosh for you next week!!

AprilN - another 2lbs - you are doing so well - it looks like it was a good idea to up you goal!! Even if you don't make the 23 - you have been such a success - you should feel so proud of yourself - well done!

JenEeyore - great to see you checking in!! Another 1.6lb gone fantastic work!! Your wild day sounded loads of fun - we all need treats like that so don't worry - onwards & downwards!!

Hope everyone is doing well - enjoying holiday treats - but making good choices!

I'm going to be on vacation starting this afternoon (heading to the airport in a few minutes!), and I'm not sure if I'll have access to a computer, so here's my check-in a couple of days early.

I did it! I made my New Year's goal, a week early. After a whopping 5 pound loss this week, my total for the challenge is 25/23. Yippee!

Have the merriest of Christmasses, one and all!

I'm happy I've lost any at all- but kind of bummed that I won't be close to my goal. I think I listed 169 as my New Year's goal- we'll I was at 178 this morning- so at best I may hit 175 by then. My husband and I found out 4 weeks ago that his job would be gone 1/23 (company lost government contract) so we've spent the last four weeks focusing on his career and travelling to interviews. Just last week he received an offer that was acceptable- not the company he'd like but they made him a good offer he couldn't refuse. So I was able to turn my focus back on myself and losing- and by low-carbing for a week I've lost 6 pounds. I'm gonna push for 175 by New Year's and try and be good this last week by avoiding as many sugars as I can! :) I'm sooooo impressed with everyone- whether you hit goal or blew past it- because you hung in there and didn't give up!! It's sooo easy to do this time of year. Have a very merry Christmas everyone!

I lost 5lbs this week, so that puts me at 16/20. This challenge is going to be great motivation to help me stay OP over the holidays. I don't think that I will be able to reach my goal be new year, but I will give it a good go and try and get as close to it as I possibly can. Congratulations to all those who have reached their goals and good luck to those of us who are still working to reach it :hyper:

All the Best of the Season to you all!!

AprilN - WOW!!! You have done so well - three cheers for you - what an acheivement - a real new you for 2004!!! 25/23 - excellent work!! You upped your goal & even went past that!! Hope you enjoy your vacation - have fun!!

lmhall2000 - sorry you have been having a tough time of late - I really hope that your DH job will be one he can be happy in! Glad you have got the chance top get back on track with your eating program now - and very good luck with you revised goal! catherine - 5lbs gone I knew you would get back into the stide on the diet as soon as you got home - good for you & what a succcess you have been! 16/20 is fantastic!!!

I will start a check-in thread early tomorrow for those who can check-in - it will be a busy week though - so I understand many won't have the time to check-in here!

Enjoy yourselves,

Well, I am done another 4 pounds :) But.... that means I won't make my goal. :( I have lost 8.5 with another 6.5 to go. Not to worry though, by the end of the first week in 2004 I should have made my goal. And I WILL make my spring goal!!!!
Julie

jazyjewel - well done 4lbs is a wonderful acheivement!! You are right to be so upbeat about getting to your goal too! All the best of the season to you!!

Happy Christmas to all who are celebrating today!!
Well we have made it through eight weeks of the challenge - so thanks so much to everyone who has stuck in there through this tough time of year for all of us trying to loose a few pounds!!

My report is a stay the same this week - which I have to be very pleased about - with my birthday & a few other events this past week it has been a real challenge!!

Hope you all have a wonderful holiday planned with friends & family - do check-in when you can! Just the final week to go now so loads of luck to all!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS,
Claire:wave:

About 1/2 lb for me this week. Stalling out, but at least not up. We didn't have a WW meeting this week due to the holiday, our center was closed on Wed, so my WI is on my home scale, but I think it is pretty accurate - digital. I think not having the WI at WW did a mental game with me a bit, as my resolve wasn't as firm this week, but it is also TOM, so that messes things up anyways.

I will check in next week for final tally. It is borderline if I will make my mini-goal or not, but it is at least close, and it inspired me to keep motivated these past few weeks - thanks to all for the support shared with the group!

Jen

Hi everyone! I lost 2.5 pounds this week, so that makes me 7.5/12. I have been sick with viral conjunctivitis that I got from my DS coughing or sneezing in my face. It has been making me sick to my stomach so I haven't been eating much. It made for a not so great Christmas. Hopefully it is starting to go away. I hope everyone had a better holiday than I did. Good luck this week!:sunny:

JenEeyore - well done on the half pound - I wouldn't feel bad about that - especially with this being holiday time!! I am glad checking in with the group has helped keep you on track!

mommyflower - I am so sorry you have been ill over Christmas!! I hope you are feeling better by now & having some late holiday fun!! 2.5 pounds is excellent - but not at the cost of being so ill!! Thanks for taking the time to check-in!

Hope everyone else has had a good holiday week - I hope others have been on program a little more than me!!
Onwards & Downwards,
Claire:wave:

Hello All

Hope you are having a great last few days of the year & this challenge!!

I am away with friends over night for New Years - so I may be starting the last check in thread a little late - but I will do it promise!!

Hope to see quite a few checking in to share their final results!!
Claire:wave:

I can't believe it, I reached my goal :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc I thought that after losing 5lbs last week there was no way that I was going to lose another 4 this week. However I decided that even if I didn't get to my goal I was going to get as close as possible, so I kept on plugging away. Anyway I weighed myself this morning and I have lost 4lbs. I am soooo excited to have reached my goal of 20lbs, especially with the trip to WDW and Christmas thrown in. I stood in the kitchen this morning looking at the piles of chocolate and other goodies thinking eating any of this would not have tasted as good as losing the 4lbs feels. This makes me even more motivated now, so I know that I can get past New year without cheating!! :hyper:

Well, here we are everyone - New Years Day & the start of a New Year & the end of this challenge!! Thanks so much to everyone for joining me in this - I have found the support of others very helpful & I hope others agree!

Reading back over the thread we have had our ups & downs - but generally people have made progress in the right direction which is the important thing. I am looking forward to seeing as many people as possible check-in so we can - see how we have done!

I have not weighed in yet - as I have had a couple of days staying with friends & I have been indulging in holiday treats. Had no chance to weigh this morning so I will have to report on my news tomorrow!!

catherine - you made your goal - how great is that - you have made such good progress! You did so well at WDW last month - you are a real example!! 20lbs lighter to start 2004 - what a fantastic feeling that must be - congratulations!!

Happy New Year to all - hope to see more checking in,
Claire:wave:

Since beginning the challenge, I lost 7 lbs. I didn't quite make my goal, but I'm thrilled that I didn't finish the holiday season heavier than I started!

Congratulations to everyone who was brave enough to even TRY a challenge during the holiday season!:Pinkbounc

Happy New Year, everyone!:bounce:

Ok, the final check in is here! I haven't had official WI's at WW center for last couple of weeks because they have been closed on Wednesdays due to the holidays, but my home scale is digital and pretty accurate, so I'm going with it. I didn't quite make my goal for this mini-challenge, but made it pretty close, and it at least gave me something to focus on.

I got to 9 of 10 lb goal!!!! I haven't been as motivated lately, but still have been hanging in there.

We don't celebrate the holidays for religious reasons, but this month has still been harder due to different social gatherings, and more food related treats at work lately. Plus up here in MN it has been COLD, so my motivation for walks has gone away. Working on getting myself motivated to exercise more with the new year. I chase after a toddler all the time, but still not the same as arobics or something, and much of my work is sit down computer work, so I am trying to be conscious about running little errands through out the workday and walking the skyways over my lunch hour.

I hope everyone else got encouragement from this challenge - now on to other challenges, right?

My goal is to be comfortably at my goal and on maintanance when we go to FL in the spring. I am close enough to goal that it won't take me that many months to get there, but want to tone up in addition to getting the weight off - pregnancy did a number on my tummy, and thighs - want to look ok in a bathing suit at Storm-along Bay at BCV!!

Way to go to all that took this challenge, and to anyone that actually made their goal, an especially big thumbs up!

Jen

I didn't make my goal I'm afraid - but at least I didn't gain overall on the run up or over the festive season! I think looking back that I was a bit ambitious with my target! Anyway I lost 6/15 - just pleased it's all in the right direction!

Well done to everyone who lost!

Well, I didn't make my mini-goal, but I came very close! I lost 11.5 out of 15. Congrats to all of you that made it, and for those that didn't, let's keep plugging away at it!!!!
