FULL TOUR of the BRAND NEW Lounge in Magic Kingdom!

There’s a NEW lounge at Disney World, but you have to be a member to get in!

McKim’s Mile House is the new DVC lounge in Magic Kingdom!
That’s right — only Disney Vacation Clubmembers can use this relaxing spot, and trust us, if you’re a member you’re going to want to stop by!

McKim’s Mile House is open in Magic Kingdom!
It’s located in Frontierland near the Country Bear Jamboree — in the building that used to be the Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade. You may remember that construction walls went up around that building last summer, and now they have come down to reveal this new air-conditioned spot!

Let’s go!
The story of this lounge is that you’re traveling and stopping in at this roadhouse for a rest. It’s named for Imagineer (and now Disney Legend) Sam McKim, who drew the famous Disneyland Souvenir maps, as well as lots of concept art for Frontierland. And — fun fact — before he was an artist, he was an actor who appeared in lots of Westerns! You can see some of Sam McKim’s art framed on the walls.

Some of Imagineer Sam McKim’s art is hung on the walls at McKim’s Mile House.
The second floor is not accessible to guests, but you can see the family’s living quarters up there…

The family quarters
…as well as guest rooms belonging to B.T. Bullion (Barnabus T. Bullion is a character in Big Thunder Mountain Railroad)…

Family names on the doors upstairs
M. Davis (Imagineer Marc Davis, the “father” of Cruella de Vil and Maleficent)…

Imagineer Marc Davis is rooming here!

…and Hoot (an owl animatronic planned for the never-built Western River Expedition attraction).

Hoot the Owl, who would have been part of the never-built Western River Expedition attraction, is immortalized here.
You’ll find plenty of seating here to relax and soak up some AC.

Lots of seating!
And this gorgeous stone fireplace is the centerpiece of the room.

Fireplace!

There are spots to charge your phone

Lots of spaces to charge!
…as well as Coke Freestyle and coffee machines.

Coke Freestyle and coffee machines are available.
Access is available to DVC members with Membership Magic access. You can also visit as a guest of a DVC member. DVC members get up to 4 guests OR if you’re staying in a resort room, everyone on the reservation can come inside and sit a spell.

Plenty of seating
McKim’s Mile House is open from 11 AM to 6 PM, starting March 18th! We think it fits perfectly into the Frontierland theme, both inside and outside! Our only regret is that more people won’t be able to see it.

Glad to have watched the videos. It's much bigger than the photos allude. Likely the same amount of seating as the Epcot lounge, if not more. I counted spots for at least 50 to sit comfortably.

Didn't catch if there are washrooms - kind of looked like it by the door in one area, but not sure?

ETA: the theming is spectacular and I have no idea how they achieved this in such a short amount of time. Much better theming and attention to detail than the Epcot lounge.

What a nice surprise! At MK now! Just bought Membership Magic while in line for Tron so hopefully that helps us not wait forever for the lounge today.
Oh how exciting! Please report back in terms of wait, as I am very curious! We arrive Saturday and would love to use this next week. I purchased MMB back in January and used it for the EPCOT lounge during the Princess RunDisney weekend. The wait at the time was 45 minutes and due to MMB, we went straight in! I hope you find the same today. HAVE FUN!! 💜

And all of us international DVC owners breathe a sigh of disappointment. :(

Hopefully even without MMB, we can get in with a waitlist.

I think the space is deceiving and agree with others. There may be more seats here than the Epcot lounge and I’m sure someone will count them both and report back soon. I would bet the first week or two you may need MMB to get in especially since it’s spring break time, but after that I think depending on the time of year you’ll likely be fine, you may have a wait but you’ll get in. Our thought was you can go and check in and see what the estimated wait is then go ride Pirates while we wait lol. But we are going in early December and wanted to check it out so MMB was worth it for us for the Photopass option plus I’ll use the OTU point bonus for an Aulani stat we are booking later this year.

I wonder if this will be open past 6pm for MMB and also have exclusive meet and greets like Epcot?

Yes. We 100% would have purchased it if we could.

I still hoped they'd use more of that space in front for either more building, or (and this is something they could still technically do - hint hint Disney!) wouldn't it be cool if that became a fenced off 'patio' seating area for the DVC lounge? There's so much space there, they could easily accommodate a dozen or more tables and chairs, and either a covered extended roof or large umbrellas - maybe install a freestyle machine up on the deck for the outside guests. Might not be as popular on the hot days, but on cooler days having an outdoor private DVC seating area would be pretty neat and would significantly enhance the overall seating space.

Looks very nice - I agree the seating probably rivals Epcot's - more condensed into one square area, vs Epcot's that's spread all around the outside of the 'hole' in the middle.

Very long line already to put your name on the list.
Also any info you can share on how they're taking names - do you get a text when ready, do they tell you to come back after a certain amount of time, are they just calling out names and you have to stick around the front, etc.

Thanks!
