New March 2017 Check In thread

Hi guys! I'm new to this group. We will be at the park from 3/27-3/31. Myself, DH, 3 kids (under the age of 6), and grandparents. I welcome any and all advice!!!! We are staying at the Grand Californian.

What kind of clothes are people planning to wear? I see the temps will range from 55-75 degrees. I was thinking jeans/pants, short-sleeve shirt, and bring a long-sleeve or light jacket to throw on top.

The weather starts out at almost 80 and goes down to the 60s with a chance of rain lol. I'm bringing all short sleeved shirts, jeans and a pair of shorts along with a hoodie. Same for the rest of my family, at least one pair of shorts for each person. I'm happy it will be cooling down though! I was dreading it being hot.

We leave on Friday! We are in Reno, so stopping a little less than midway to spend the night with relatives and then our official trek happens Saturday morning.

Welcome! Make sure to take advantage of the GC's entrance directly into DCA, and grab your World of Color fastpasses when you do!

Unless it's rope drop or EMH. Then use the main entrance. The one at GCH gets really backed up in the mornings, and you definitely don't want to waste half of your EMH waiting to go through the entrance.

We will be there 3/26-31. We have 1 son age 8.
No advice as this is our first DL trip. Have a great time & maybe we'll see you there!

We're going to be there at almost the same time. Based on the long range forecast, the temperatures are summer time weather for us. So shorts/Capri/leggings (for DD) with T-shirts for daytime. At night, maybe jeans and a fleece or hoodie. Probably throwing in rain jackets just in case.

I am bringing mostly capris and tees. A hoodie for mornings/evenings. Plus tossing in my poncho from WDW just in case it rains. It's not supposed to on my park days, but you never know.

Hey that's exactly the question I came on here tonight to ask! I'm a little cold nature and was considering bringing some winter clothes for nights . Daughter thinks if I bring winter for night and spring clothes for daytime and a bathing suit in case I might as well bring the whole closet .

I am always cold in the morning and at night, so I wear layers and stick shorts and sandals in a bag. My family teases me because I will literally have on jeans, sweatshirt, winter coat, gloves and 2 pairs of socks on, change when it gets hot mid-day, and then change back when the sun goes down. And we're not from anywhere warm!

We're 9 days away so I'm watching the forecast for a bit more before deciding. I'm sure I'll bring both pants & capris for me, shorts for DS (plus he'll wear a pr of pants there & back). We're from Chicago & the weather forecast is never right 10 days out (& often wrong the day before) I always have a fleece jacket. Even if I don't wear it outside, usually even the air conditioning gets a bit chilly.

We leave tonight! I'm picking up the rental at lunch, out of work at 4:00, load the car, pick up the kids from school and then hit the road. If everything goes smoothly we should be in Anaheim by 9:30pm.

We're on the road right now too! Left at 4:30, ETA in Orange County probably 11:30 or so. Disneyland tomorrow and DCA Saturday! So excited!

As for clothes, I'm thinking capris tomorrow and jeans Saturday. Definitely t shirts and bring a sweatshirt. I brought shorts but I'm not sure it'll be warm enough for me. Still trying to decide.

I've decided that if it rains, we'll get rain ponchos somewhere in or near the parks. It's off season for them here. I did see a child's one size fits all. That means it would likely be a tripping hazard for DD.

I've been taking screen captures of Anaheim's weather so I can see how it's changing. Even cooler weather at the parks equals a cooler summer day. It just can't wait to be in a place with no snow or melting snow on the ground.

We're from Chicago also!!! When is your trip?

It's been a really rough week in our house. Our beloved fur kid (cat) fell ill and had to be hospitalized at our local university teaching hospital (if anyone lives in Nor Cal and needs vet assistance, UC Davis has been phenomenal to us). He's improving, but requires 4 daily medications that need to be administered via oral syringe twice daily. This will be the case for at least the next week... and as you can imagine it's not the easiest task to complete. The level of difficulty administering the meds coupled with me wanting to be there in case things go south again (God forbid), I'm cancelling my plans for next week.

I keep telling myself that this just means I get to plan another trip...that Disneyland will always be there, but it's all still really hard to take in. I hope the rest of you enjoy yourselves and have great trips.

We leave today! Heading down about 3.5hrs to my husband's grandma's house to spend the night and then officially leave Saturday morning for Anaheim! My son, who is 4, gets super antsy on car rides so we figure breaking up the 9hr drive would be a good thing for him and our sanity lol.

aw I'm so sorry! What a bummer.

Sitting in our airport hotel having a nice drink before our 12 hour flight tomorrow.

I know it won't happen but I keep hoping to find the red rose sipper, the POTC 50th anniversary AP pin and the stein back in stock!

Have great trips everyone and for those who have come back already, get planning the next
