New March 2017 Check In thread

Does anyone else get excited at rain in the forecast for their trip? Looks like we may have some rain this Wednesday and Saturday so we are hoping maybe that will keep some of the crowds at bay :)

We will be there in a week. A little disappointed as I just received our schedule for our group and the only opportunity we had to do the Tour with Walt was Monday morning and it is already sold out. My husband is not a Disney Fan or amusement park fan so I am hoping to find items he would enjoy. Any suggestions for any shows or low key activities? Or, anyone have two extra tickets for the tour they are not using on Monday the 27th?? I'm excited but it is hard when he is not.

Oh, cry. I was looking at booking that day a few days ago and both times were still available. I didn't book it because I wanted to think about how the rest of the day would schedule out. I guess ticket sales decided for me.

They still had four for the 12:00 time so call quickly.

I still don't know how you guys can do those long drives lol I can't imagine driving from WA to Southern CA. I did SF to Vegas once and I was miserable by the end of the trip!

I've been making the trip for half of my life so it just seems normal. It does have it's very looooong stretches and that is hard. Over the past few years we have broken up the trip. My youngest has some special needs and it is sometimes easier to stop and stay somewhere. Last years trip and this one are drive straight through trips.

Good music, sunflower seeds, peanut M&M's and lots of water help the trip go by quickly.

Last min trip to Newport for my husbands work and I'm going to do a first ever solo trip for the day to Disneyland! Looking at Monday the 27th or Tuesday the 28th. My touring plans has expired and I was wondering what y'all would pick if you were trying to hit lower-ish crowd levels.

I would do the 28th. Touring plans is saying it's a 7/10 day Otha's day compared to an 8/10 day on the 27th.

I just got back. We rode POTC Friday night when I knew there wouldn't be an insane line. Saturday the line was really long, the longest I've ever seen. It looked like 2 hours to me, but the app said it was only 40 minutes. The ride is phenomenal. The bright reds and blues from the clothing stood out and Davy Jones showed up better than I could ever imagine on the smoke screen.

We walked into DL right after the fireworks last night and were able to score a curb seat right on Main Street in front of Lincoln for MSEP. Even though it was very crowded in the parks, we were able to get a lot done. Saturdays are crazy but the long hours make it easy to do/see a lot.

From what I saw on Facebook, the line for POTC looked huge. I'm hoping it won't be too long when we're there. I've got it planned for Tuesday. I can't wait to ride it.

I'm going to get it done first thing when I get there. And then I'll probably wait in line later when its busier, but it's definitely high priority while I am there.

I've been keeping an eye on the Disneyland app, for line waits for our trip next week. This morning it still said no fast passes were being distributed...even an hour or almost 2 after REGULAR park opening at 8am. Do the fastpass machines usually distribute at regular park opening or wait awhile? Or maybe something was just off with my app

Was the ride up and running? If it's closed, they do not distribute FPs.

Yes, up and running rides. It was so weird. Literally none of the fastpasses were saying they were distributing. I kept checking between 8am and 10 am California time. Around 10:30am, they were all up and going according to the DIS app

Sometimes the app stops tracking. That happened to us on 3/10 - it stopped updating wait times around 11:00 am. Made me realize just how much I rely on that to decide where we're going next!

Oh no!!! I am TOTALLY relying on that app:(

Two more sleeps.
Then we will on our way to Disneyland :mickeyjum

Trying to get packing done but struggling after a full day of work. Still so much left to do.

Three sleeps for us and I think I'll do most of the packing tomorrow. I'm ahead of the game because I'm usually doing laundry the night before our trip. This time I have maybe 1 load.

I don't know if I can say we have two more sleeps even though we are arriving in Anaheim on Sunday. We are traveling by tour bus with 34 band and orchestra students. Leaving on Saturday night. I am hoping it won't be miserable as we would have the return trip on Wednesday night.

If you look at the official app and look at ride times, you can click on one of the rides and then click on it again to open up more information, listing Fastpass information.
