HI-

We are a family of 5 that is Disney crazy! We go to WDW every year and the kids love it! (5, 4 and 2). But the Magic is another story.
I really need help on what to pack --like shorts for day and nice outfits for night? Do people really wear Black tie? I have them rented for my Hubby and the 2 boys-- but hubby would scream if he was the only one wearing a tux!
What about money? How much do you really spend on the 7 day cruise-- I realy don't know what extras we need to use our money for--- my parents are coming also and they are big soda drinkers---
As for the kids -- will they go the the kids club everyday? My 2 year old is potty trained and will be 1 month from turning 3 --- will they take him?
Thanks for helping me out--- I am a pro at wdw but I am a wreck when it comes to being prepared for this trip--- which is Feb 2
Thanks for all the help in advance!

From one Gina to another, Hi!! :D

I"m a first-time cruiser myself, so I don't really have the answers to your questions -- I just spend every waking minute here on the cruise board soaking up every bit of info I can. :)

And hey, we're not only both Gina's, but both sailing at the same time! How cool! It'll be me and my almost-6 year old little boy. He is soooo excited about The Oceaneer Club!

There are a bunch of us from here sailing 2/2, and we're planning a mini-meet at the sailaway party. You can find our thread here. Please come join us! :)

I think I can answer a few of your questions.

1. Most people on our cruise were in shorts, t-shirts, swimsuits etc. during the day. Mostly just comfortable clothes. The exception would be tea or brunch at Palo's. The navigator says no shorts.

2. We were the early seating for dinner. I saw some tuxes but they were in the minority. Mostly the men were in suits. This was just my observation. There were probably more tuxes at the late seating.

3. We are a family of 4 and our bill for the week was around $800. This included our tips. Most of the rest was spent at Shutters and the shops and bingo. The only place I remember using cash on the ship was to tip the room service waiters.

4. If your parents are big soda drinkers then the mugs might be good for them. They are $35, but if they drink a lot, it might be worth it.

5. My kids spent some time in the clubs everyday except one. They would usually spend some time in the afternoon, then again after dinner. I am not sure about the 2 year old. I have heard that Disney is pretty strict with the age groups and not letting them move into an older group. I would say to ask and the worst they could say is no. But be prepared to make your Flounder's reservations early in case it doesn't work out with the club.

Hang out on these boards as much as you can. You will learn a lot. Best of luck and have a great trip!
