New Logo?

:rotfl2: You guys crack me up. KUNGALOOSH!!!!

And for the record, I'm not so nuts on the whole new design. With all of the characters jammed on there it is just really elementary looking to me. Just not of Disney caliber if you ask me. Besides, I think there may be a couple of characters from the early Disney shorts that the left off...

And I, too, would like to hear from any Native American DISers on how they feel about the depiction in the new design.

After a closer look...it appears that Pluto was already in the basket. That's not a thermos, but a shaker in the picnic basket. Pluto looks pretty toasted doesn't he?

Of course - it's all coming together now!

It's obviously a communist plot, aimed at disrupting the powerful dis camping board lobby. The inconsistancies between the license plate and shirt graphics were meant to be subliminal, causing angst among us. They were not counting on the cleverness and keen eye of our spy, Tri Circle D. These communists apparently underestimated the collective intelligence of us campers. It is meant to allow Disney to do the unthinkable like force us to pay for cable TV (which is nothing but Disney propaganda), remove the beloved cochina section of each site, and raise the cost of camping to an astronomic level with little resistance. In the spirit of Paul Revere, I am calling all campers to unite in the struggle against this Disney oppression and take over Fort Wilderness. Our rallying cry - KUNGALOOSH!

COMMUNISTS??!!!!!

By Golly, I think you are on to something here!

It is time for us to make a stand!

KUNGALOOSH!

I am not to surprised about the depiction of the Native Americans, because they are characters from a Disney film, and "everyone" else on there is a Disney character. However, I don't understand their relavance to the Fort. Canoes, picnics, even old Paulie I get, but not Indians. Unless they start having some ceremonial blessing at the campfire it doesn't go, in my opinion. Definately a communist plot! Raising my musket and proclamining with all my heart-KUNGALOOSH!!!

Think about what the theame of FW is. You are back in time at a fort with Davey Crocket well thats how the native americans fit in.(At least in my head)

Well, the "Fort" is themed on a frontier fort and these were strategically placed initially to safeguard the westward expansion of the British colonies (and later, US states). To safeguard from who? Native Americans predominantly, but also French, Spanish, even Dutch troops (read about the French and Indian wars and Daniel Boone). Later, during Davy Crockett's time, the forts defended almost exclusively against Native American attacks (and served as bases to launch offensive campaigns, to be fair). I suppose that particular connection is one Disney would rather avoid these days, and pulled the musket from Mickey and the tomahawk from the indigenous folk. Now they frolic together in the bucolic wilderness meadow.

Thanks for the new word of the day--'bucolic'.

So, is anyone ready to have Shanman work his magic on this and make a nice clean file so we can make stickers and put on our campers???

Bucolic rhymes with frolic... it was an artistic choice ;) And, uh, no, I'm not spending the next three months trying to redraw that jumble of clip art called a license plate!

True. I was thinking differently.
