When I was at the parks last week I saw several of these "Mickey pals" they said they had a computer inside that when you went to the parks it was your own personal tour guide. He would tell you times of parades, which rides and attractions you were near. they cost about $50. If anyone has used one of these dolls please let us know how they worked and if they are worth the investment....

I have no small children. Just wanted to know if it would be something an adult would enjoy?

Those are the Pal Mickey's - and from what I have heard, I think people of all ages would enjoy them.

I plan on getting one on my next trip - they sound too cute!!

I plan to on my next visit. I have read that the Pal Mickey can be a bit of a pain because you carry him around all day or can clip him to you, but the clip may not work well. But I know that he vibrates when he want to tell you something and if you squeeze his hand (I think), then he'll tell you something interesting about a nearby attraction. He says things like "Oh, this is scary" when you are entering the Haunted Mansion.

I think he sounds like fun and for a really Disney fan, I don't know what adult wouldn't enjoy him.

I'm sure you'll get a better opinion from someone who has actually tried him though.

We rented one for the day and enjoyed it. I don't have any youngsters, my DD is 16, but she enjoyed it too. DH got a bit tired of the corny jokes (Why did Goofy put the saddle on the stove? So he could ride the range. LOL). DH kept threatening to let Pal Mickey go for a swim in the Rivers of America, or near Splash Mountain, or in the lagoon on the way from TTC to MK.

We turned the clip on Mickey around so that the hinged clip was on Mickey and the slide clip went on my fanny pack strap. This way he stayed put alot better. The other way, when you sat down he had a tendency to slide up and off.

In the Haunted Mansion, he made a comment before going in, and then near the ballroom scene, he giggled and shook, so I pressed his tummy to hear what he had to say. He said something about it being scary.

We played one of the games and it was different and cute.

If you aren't sure about investing the full $50 into him, try renting him for a day, then decide. That day's rent will be put toward purchase if you decide to buy afterward.

We loved him in AK. As a veteran at MK - he was good for my 4 yo DS standing in line - but he didn't tell us much we didn't already know.

But at AK - he pointed out all the animals, gave you details and showed you where they were or could be. We spent much more time in this park looking at animals than we ever had before.

As for his clip - he talks softly so I was constantly pulling him off to listen to what he had to say or let DS listen. So I found the design of the clip okay. You just needed to remember he was there so he wouldn't fall off.

All in - our tour guide was worth the $50.

thanks for the input I may just try to rent one next time to see if I want to carry him around.
