New Lady Gaga video?

Ah, I think the sound of that song is sick. And the video is pretty cool. It's odd, but really cool. Very dark towards the end :P

Don't bother.. There wasn't one, except for the whole prostitution thing.

Terrible video. Terrible song. The lyrics basically mean jack squat. The beat and sound was really elementary. Overall, a 0/10. How anyone can like this crap, I don't know. At least Paparazzi was catchy and had a meaning.

Basically about the music she makes:

“I spent a lot of nights in Eastern Europe, and this album is a pop experimentation with industrial/Goth beats, ’90s dance melodies, an obsession with the lyrical genius of ’80s melancholic pop, and the runway. I wrote while watching muted fashion shows and I am compelled to say my music was scored for them,” Gaga said of what inspired the new tracks on Monster. “I also composed a ballad for the album, ‘Speechless,’ a song for my father, and it’s my favorite work of all. I wrote every piece on the road — no songs about money, no songs about fame. I wrote it for my fans, so I wrote everything in between.”

"On my re-release The Fame Monster, I wrote about everything I didn't write on The Fame. While traveling the world for two years, I've encountered several monsters, each represented by a different song on the new record: my 'Fear of Sex Monster,' my 'Fear of Alcohol Monster,' my 'Fear of Love Monster,' my 'Fear of Death Monster,' my 'Fear of Loneliness Monster,' etc."

It's about fashion, people.

It was catchy but dumb man gaga errr lady gag gag scared me! The whole time i wanted to poke her huge eyes xD im scarred

CAITLIN! I swear I'm gonna have to come to Toronto and HURT YOU LOL.

Kay people. Am I gonna have to pull out the flamethrower? xD

I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS AND HER.. I'm kinda biased I suppose.
I made a list of 50 things that were epic about this video.
It's amazing.
I see it as art, because nobody has done it before.

That's what modern art is. You make something that nobody has before and suddenyl your an artist, I love it. LAdy Gaga is a crapload better than anyone right now. She can actually sing, and sing WELL live, she switches up her performances EVERYTIME, and she actually play a piano very beautifully. I want every single outfit from this video.

I'd wear them somewhere... I don't know where... XD

ALSO - SHE HAS RAZORBLADE SUNGLASSES. Don't mess with her. Or me. LMAO.

GAGA FTW :lovestruc:cloud9:

When listening to her new stuff I mentioned about how it had a slightly gothic-like industrial mixed with pop style to it and then I saw an interview where she mentioned she was influenced by that style...I have to give her the credit for not being as constricted to one style like alot of recent pop is...I mean when watching a live performance of Paperazzi there was a very Kraftwerk influence in parts of it.

I see it as art, because nobody has done it before.
Some of the stuff she is doing I have seen done before....but I can see her personal take on it (e.g. the "crown monster" costumes are very similar to a fantasy movie (I think it might be MirrorMask but not 100%)and one of the costumes in Paperazzi video is very similar to an outfit that was worn in the 80's by club scene kids (and was in the film Party Monster)). But as another aritst said most things have been done before but the way its delivered is what makes it unique.

I'm really liking the new video, at first I didn't like it (too sparce I thought) but its really grown on me.

I'm someone who's usually a fan of cool, different music videos of people that I can't stand.

This is not one of them.

I think when she started doing what looked like a cross between the Thriller dance and the Monster Mash, I stopped caring.

Way too bizarre, I'm sick of "art" being bizarre.

ITA! But the stool hanging from the ceiling usually has a purpose....unlike whatever it is gaga is trying to do.
what bothers me if that she CLAIMS that she's a performance artist and blah blah blah but all her stuff is so RANDOM and they're zero meaning behind it.
and i'm not saying that all music should have a meaning behind it, but if you're going to say it does, it shouldn't be just random 'weird' stuff.

See, I don't understand the stool hanging from the ceiling at all! My impression of it is "it's a stool...hanging from a ceiling...okay gotcha". Maybe it means something like a seat in heaven, I dunno? People see art in different ways, I guess. I would rather see something random than something (IMO) stupid than a stool hanging from a ceiling. Obviously, other people don't feel that way and that's fine.

PS - Anyone wanna tell me what the stool means? I'm totally lost! :rotfl:
I know what you mean Sonya. Lady Gaga is dance music. Same with Britney and Katy Perry (who I like a lot more than Lady Gaga). It's fun music. I don't listen to it for the lyrics. I think life would be so depressing if all we had were lyrics that were so deep and emotional and meaningful. Songs can be fun too. Lady Gaga has seemed to go and try and portray herself as a serious artist (which I guess she is) but she tries and put herself out there as making meaningful music. I'm sorry, her album will not endure for years to come.
See, I don't like Katy Perry at all. Aside from her sometimes vintage fashion, I don't really like her all that much. Especially now that she's involved with Russell Brand. Russell Brand =:sick::sick::sick::sick:

Honestly, how many kids these days would be able to tell you about devo? Yeah, they may recognize "whip it" but very few will be able to tell you it's devo, and even fewer will tell you other songs by devo.

This is a new era. New technology, new ideas. Devo was the "new and improved" of that generation, Lady Gaga is that of ours. Just like the new and improved rock and roll of the 50s. It may have been done before but it's unique and more different than ever before. JMO. :goodvibes

BTW: If anyone's looking for a meaningful LG song, this could be one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_AMyAtNe_4&feature=channel I like it. :)

Yeah she does somethings that have been done before. She mentions borrowing some hitchcock in the new song so its not like she doesn't acknowledge this. but she is very creative with what she does.

Art is very subjective anyway so its really hard to analyze these types of things. Everyone will have their opinion, that's what all art is.

I thought she referenced Hitchcock works (psycho and vertigo being name ones) in the song but I just assumed it was a coincidence at first. I watched an interview yesterday and she mentioned she was inspired by the german industrial/gothic beats (so I assume she is talking about the electro-industrial scene as that was/is big in germany)....and agreed what she is doing is interesting take influence from a variety of different styles mixed with her take...quite a breath of fresh air to hear this in pop after so long.

That is true, I can't remember the artist but all he did was paint a blue triangle and called it a red triangle and it was considered a representation of how our society will accept something if it is called and labelled something...or something like that...but to others it was simply a blue triangle...there are many other good examples of course....

The "Eh, Eh" song is ok. I just hate how she runs around in a bodysuit type thing in EVERY video. We get it...you like looking like a bimbo.

;D

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned the plot.
Gaga's being sold to the Russian Mob.

:D Fun times, eh?
yes, she is captured, drugged, showcased, bid for, purchased, and she ends up killing the person that purchased her :) good times

I just watched the video. It was even weirder than I expected. The song itself isn't terrible. The video is bizarre.

I Love it.
and i love her.
she's just so different.
that's what i like.
Her eccentricities.

I don't like lady gaga, she's just too weird for me and all she wants is attention. I don't like her songs, but I thought the video was unique.
I'm one of the dancers at the play in my school and we're using some of the choreography from this video in our play (the director wanted to use it. haha)

I think she's okay. I like most of her songs, and I think Bad Romance is pretty catchy.
