I just read that the menu changed at GG for the kids. Does anyone know if you can still request regular fries and nuggets? My kids are very picky and I know they won't eat drumsticks and sweet potato fries. Disappointed because I was really looking forward to this one.

We were there the first week of July.... yes, very disappointed in the new kids menu also. We did request regular fries and chicken nuggets (they were still different nuggets than normally have there, but were quite good!) They brought us out the new items, and our requests.

Am also wondering if the regular stuff is still available - going end of September and hoping so!

That's when we are going also. I'm glad to hear you got your requests last time, anyone else know if you still can??

Yeah, I'm glad to hear that they still have some of the old things on hand too...my twins aren't going to like the new menu too much either!

We were just there the week of July 20. We love Garden Grill, and think the food has improved significantly even since our March trip. I'll admit the children's items were not ideal, but even our pickiest eater still enjoyed the drumsticks and LOTS of mac and cheese. So no complaints from our boys.

I know that so many Disney restaurants go above and beyond to accomodate guests, so I'm not surprised to hear that you can easily get all the old kids' items, too!

Disney is in a no win situation. Peope whine constantly on these boards both ways. 1/2 whine that their kiddos eat like adults and would prerfer some more adult style choices on the kiddie menu, but the other 1/2 whine that they have the pickiest group of kids known to all mankind and how could Disney offer anything to kiddos other than the absolute in kid food of processed chicke, McD's fries, bright orange Kraft Mac & Cheese.

Some restaurants cater to one category and some cater to others. If the food doesn't suit your family then choose another.

Where can I see the new CG kids menu? My kids love drumsticks and sweet potato fries, so this would be perfect!

hahaha this is so true!!!!
I'll find myself looking at menus and being appalled that there's no chicken fingers. How dare they! And then I come back to reality and think "Oh. Well maybe I should pick another place that has stuff we like..." :)

The kids meals seem to be almost the same at all the restaurants in the parks. I just made reservations for our trip in Sept and I hope my little girl doesnt get tired of chicken nuggets, fries, carrot sticks, and applesauce lol.

For us it's one of our favorite restaurants, but yeah, hoping they will still do regular fries and nuggets. Would be a shame to take kids to a favorite place, and nothing they want to eat.

The menu changed after we booked it and I only just realized it this week. We will keep our ADR since we are only a little over a month away and hopefully it will be great!!:thumbsup2

When our kids were little - at GG they had the kids meal - but also ate some of the steak (beef) slices we had.

I think kids would still like off the adult menu...
Char-grilled Beef Strip Loin with Herb Sea Salt (ask for less Salt)
Roasted All Natural Turkey Bresat with Cranberry-Orange Relish (ask for the Relish to be on the side)
and
Smashed Potatoes - mashed potaoes with some skins in it.

Now that our kids are teens - they will still ask for...
Oven Roasted Chicken Drumstick -> DD loves them
Baked Macaroni and Cheese -> both DD, DS & even DH eats it
Broccoli -> only green veggie DS will eat and better eat it, to keep healthy
Crispy Sweet Potato Sticks -> our whole family likes them

plus the Mickey "Mousse" Cookies and Cream kid dessert is better than the Freshly Baked Strawberry-Rhubarb Crisp for our DS & DD.

I wonder if they have a sugar free dessert or less calorie desssert.
For DH & DW, we would eat an apple or sorbet instead of Freshly Baked Strawberry-Rhubarb Crisp !
