New Kidcot yeshhhh or no?

I think my son (almost 9) will enjoy collecting these cards far more than he did getting Duffy cutouts.

The old Kidcot was a coloring table and each time I wandered by the CMs looked bored and un-interactive. When my kids were younger there were masks and the CMs would talk to them and attach a charm from their country. When kids tired of the mask they still wanted to interact so they brought them autograph books, had conversations with them, had them write a message (and translation) in their book and the CMs seemed to enjoy the conversation.

I think this new thing - IF the parents and children do more than grab the cards - can also lead to that interaction, conversation and personal messages on the cards.

My 12 years old loves the hide and squeak at F&W, and really enjoys trying to find Remy in his locations.

The OP asked about the passport, and it's a favorite in our house. You can buy it at any of the World Showcase stores and looks like a regular US Passport. On each point of entry page, you put the country stickers and then there's a spot for the CM to write in. At the kidcot station, they usually write your name in and a short "hello" note in the language of the country and then stamp it. It looks like the new Kicot is taking the most fun part of the passport and incorporating it- so this would be a fund alternative that you don't need to buy!

I was thinking the same! Looks like we won't "need" to buy those passports after all!

For him, coloring a new section at each country was just as much the experience as getting the stamp. There’s nothing to color anymore. Now it’s a sticker on a bag

You/he obviously didn't take a good look at them. The back side of each card (which then goes in the bag) is for coloring, AND they go with the country you collect the card in. There's a space on the front of the card to put a stamp, sticker, or for the CM to write a note - along with some kind of fact(s) about the country.

He enjoyed coloring the actual mask, not cards, not coloring pages. I doubt anyone is coloring the ziploc bag.

Mercifully we are beyond that stage of life.

My 3 and 6 year old kids loved the new kidcot stations last week! To be fair, they never did any older versions, so they have nothing to compare it to, but they had a ton of fun coloring and interacting with the cast members. Most of the cast members wrote names or sayings or drew a picture in the blank spot on the card like in the picture above, and they all spent time talking to the kids.

Yahoo something new to collect and do at each country! My DD will love this even as a teen. She loves to interact with the Cast Members at each country.
