Jimmy Fallon just announced on his show that Race through New York with Jimmy Fallon will be opening in 2017 in Universal Orlando. He is very excited about it, will have the Roots in it too. He said it will be 4D/3D and some of the same ride technology as the Harry Potter rides.

I really wish Universal would re-think this..They have SO MANY 3D-4D shows/ride experiences and while I like Jimmy Fallon and NYC , this holds zero appeal to me

Very 'meh' about this. I mean Twister wasn't amazing, but this won't be a re-ride attraction for alot of people.

Heres hoping F&F is better than the USH version to bump the 2017 new attractions up a bit.

Twister closes 2nd November 2015

To clarify the last day to experience Twister and Bill Paxton's amazing monotone is this Sunday.

This makes 2 new rides for 2017 announced, Fallon and Fast and Furious. The new Waterpark opens that year as well, and also the Cabana Bay expansion. I know there is one more major thing they have yet to announce for that year, but not sure what it is.

Yeah but until 2017, that is 2 attractions closed at the studios..If they decide to revamp the Kidzone area at the same time , that will be more of the Studios down till 2017..You would think they would space it out better .Disaster and Twister may have been old , but they DID absorb crowds during busier times. Now that is 2 less attractions to help with crowd control

Mummy Refurb, or something for the gap between MIB and Simpsons.

Or something new and Marvel related!

Yeah, but they were 2 show most people didn't pay much attention to anyway. I think they are doing it right...they got Diagon Alley opened, and then they start other areas. JMO
Me personally, I loved Disaster and really enjoyed Twister (complete with monotone and awkward kinda-leaning-on-something-but-there's-nothing-there Bill Paxton.) But old things have to go sometime...I'm most upset about the Lucy museum being gone now (though I know I am in the major minority there ;) )

That's a pretty small area to be putting something that isn't screen related. I don't think they have much choice there.

Generally I've heard it will consist of two theaters, be similar to Soarin but with more independence in seats (ala Forbidden Journey), but starting out in a mock up of the Tonight Show Studio. Possibly using randomized elements in each ride (ala the new star tours, different jokes or celebrity guests).

The facade will be like 30 Rockerfeller Center in NY, and will have an amazing opportunity for Christmas decorations around Christmas time.

I don't want to overblow it, but I think it could be a good little ride.

I love the sound of it!!! But then not a Twister fan here, so anything would be better for us.

From what Fallon said last night, it will incorporate the KUKA robotic arm system used in Forbidden Journey. So similar to Forbidden Journey, but going through New York. Sounds really cool.

The ride is going to be in two theatres, so it isn't going to be a ride where you move from room to room.

Well, that's a bummer, I'm less excited. He made it sound like it would be like Forbidden Journey.

It's gonna be like a combination of Soarin and Shrek by the sound of it.

I hope it is nothing like soarin. I know I'm in the minority here but, soarin is terrible.

I'll miss Twister. I liked the simplicity of of the whole thing.
No more 3d/4d stuff for a while Univeral, k?
How about dark rides? Walk throughs? Non-coaster-y rides?
Not sure Jimmy Fallon is a big enough draw. Do people in foriegn countries know him? NYC is an interesting setting for a ride though.
