New Jersey - Favorite Restaurants?

....we used to go to The Captain's Table in the Crest for breakfast....

The Pop Shop best grilled cheese Collingswood
Filamenas Italian food Berlin and Deptford

I'm a Hudson County girl by birth...Biggie's in Hoboken...the best clams and cheesesteaks. My dad is friends with the owner.

Il Forno in Secaucus. Cute little pizza place we used to go to ALL the time after school as kids-it was literally a 20 second walk from the school. Authentic and delicious. Friendly owners too!

The Ravioli House in Wildwood
The Lobster House in Cape May
La Esperanza in Lindenwold awesome Mexican food and the best margaritas
Gallery Pizza in Erial, the family is from Sicily and they make the best Sicilian pizza

Used to live in Sicklerville and there was Gallery IV. loved there Sicilian.

Love Sams and Macs pizza. Also, Johnson's popcorn in Ocean City and Crazy Susan's Cookies in Ocean City and Voorhees/Berlin.

Where is Susan's cookies in voorhees/Berlin? I work in Gibbsboro and DH in Berlin and don't know of it.

Reading this thread has made me very hungry!

Here are a few of my favorites:

Panache - Ramsey (French)
Varka - Ramsey (Greek)
Kinchleys - Ramsey (Great bar style thin pizza)
Marcellos - Ridgewood (Italian) their menus are a work of art
Arturo's - Midland Park (Italian)
Manor in West Orange - Great Sunday Brunch
Pompton Queen and Jefferson Diners - Two of my favorites!

So many wonderful restaurants in Jersey, and now I' starving!

I grew up in Ridgewood but before Marcellos I believe. I remember the Daily Treat an the Brass Lamp.

It was on Rt 73 but closed. My daughter drove by this am and was surprised. The cookies are so good, family owned. They had a show on food network. Hopefully they are still open in Ocean City.

....we went to The Crow's Nest for dinner tonite....:thumbsup2

....OMG, that's where my DH took me on our very first date!

Yumm...Juanitos and Arthurs (we used to go to the one in New Brunswick, I think they closed :( ).

Jose Tejas - Woodbridge
Harold's Deli - Edison

I love Jose Tejas.

If I'm ever in the area near Woodbridge, I'm eating there.

French Quarter Chicken with jambalaya is the best.

It's worth the wait.

....there used to be one in Paramus, but they've closed...:confused3

Nice to see this thread resurrected! A lot has changed in the past few years.

Papa's is now in Robbinsville and better than ever. We were just there a week ago...yum!

Sal DeFortes is going strong in Ewing, by the end of the year all the old Chambersburg restaurants will be relocated, as Rossi's and Amici Milano head to the 'burbs.

Some new favorites:
Sergeantsville Inn in the Flemington area
Indochine in New Brunswick

That would be Callahan's or Hiram's. Both are gone now. :(

Callahan's tried branching into a chain, but it didn't work out. The Fort Lee location closed down a year or so back (I think). They had another location in Little Ferry on Route 46 just past the Circle (you Jersey insiders know where that is ;) ), but it closed down too a few months ago.

Cubby's in Hackensack still sells that kind of hot dog. Their food is great, but their prices and food court atmosphere don't add up IMO.

Hiram's is still there...just ate there on Saturday!

Callahan's is just opening again in food truck form... The grandson of the original owner is starting it.

....hey, does anyone remember the name of the German restaurant that was in Atlantic Highlands. It was at the top of a cliff and had a spectacular view of the water....

I love Bill's Olde Tavern in Mercerville, NJ.
It has great deals like 2 for $22 where you get either an Appetizer or Dessert to share and an entree each, and a drink... either alcholic or non-alcholic.

Also on Wednesdays it has a great hamburger special of a 6lb burger with unlimited fries and a drink. :)
