New Jersey - Favorite Restaurants?

Yumm...Juanitos and Arthurs (we used to go to the one in New Brunswick, I think they closed :( ).

Jose Tejas - Woodbridge
Harold's Deli - Edison

I havent ived in NJ for over 30 years but my aunt loves Harolds. She tells me about how her leftovers last her for days because the portions are huge!

I haven't lived in NJ in about 19 years, but...

Victoria Station, Wayne
Rutts Hut, Clifton

Pompton Queen Diner, Pompton Plains (Can someone FedEx me a Queen salad?) I'm in withdrawal! PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE!!

The Village Inn, Pompton Plains
Kermit's Pond, Oakland
The Hoffbrau, Wayne
Gabriel's, Wayne
94th Bomb Group, Fairfield
With Love, Wayne

There were a couple tucked in on back roads that we used to visit occasionally. I wish I remember the names of them! :lovestruc
....Rutt's Hut - DEFINITELY!

We also love eating at Paisano's, in Rutherford and The Crow's Nest, on Rte 17 in Hasbrouck Heights...

I have to ask because I just did a search for Kermit's Pond in Oakland, and The DIS popped up!! :-D

..OMG, that place had such big portions, but it got torn down years ago, when they built Rte 287...

That would be Callahan's or Hiram's. Both are gone now. :(

Callahan's tried branching into a chain, but it didn't work out. The Fort Lee location closed down a year or so back (I think). They had another location in Little Ferry on Route 46 just past the Circle (you Jersey insiders know where that is ;) ), but it closed down too a few months ago.

Cubby's in Hackensack still sells that kind of hot dog. Their food is great, but their prices and food court atmosphere don't add up IMO.

....it used to crack me up that they were right next to each other...one had the better burgers and the other, hot dogs...the Callahan's that used to be on Rte 46 in Little Ferry became a Pollo Loco(?) place, but that closed too...now it's a Popeye's, I think...

OMG, these places are bringing me right down Memory Lane....oh, and BTW, anyone who went to WPU (it was WPC, back-in-the-day) went to Brother Bruno's for hot sub sandwiches....

....has anyone been to Nellie's Place in Waldwick? They have really good food too....

I used to eat the V & J's pizza growing up - it's not the same now. Vinnie's is pretty good, though!

...is that anywhere near E&V Restaurant on Chamberlain Ave in Paterson? BEST chicken parm EVER!

...I think that only people who went there refer to WPU as "Willy P's"...:rotfl:

....:confused3 did anyone mention Segovia's in Little Ferry? The steaks look like they came straight outta an episode of The Flintstones!

My boyfriend lives a few blocks from there! We used to go a lot but we are trying to cut back on eating out. The pizzas are great. Our favorite is the shrimp fra diavlo.

....and my niece works at the diner across the street....

.....well, she is away at school now (Duquesne Univ in Pittsburgh) but she will work there during the summer...
